#59415 Transferring purchased modules from phone to tablet

Posted by BNixon on 05 October 2026 - 04:43 PM

You should be able to use a purchased module on all of your Windows PC and MacOS and Android and iOS and iPadOS devices simultaneously.  You just need to locate your saved key from when you originally purchased the module and use the key to install it on the device, just the same as if if was a brand new module purchase.

#49912 Looking for modules w/apocryphas in tact. Great Bible 1539, Matthew's Bib...

Posted by BNixon on 28 March 2026 - 06:20 PM

What needs to found is the text of these bibles with the apocrypha in order to create e-sword modules

They are all available on the Internet Archive website in .PDF format, but in my opinion they are extremely difficult to read due to fonts, spelling, etc. used in that era.

#48208 I need Topical dictionary for ios tab

Posted by BNixon on 05 May 2025 - 04:37 PM

Hello I need topical dictionary for iOS tab. I searched many files for this one. Some of the files are there, but I couldn’t download it because it’s not working for iOS tab, so kindly I request to you for upload the the topical dictionary for iOS, thank you..

It was unclear exactly which resource you were referring to, but I made my best guess and uploaded a .dcti module that should work on iOS to the following location:

#48098 Request for Ben Chayyim Masoretic Text Module for e-Sword

Posted by BNixon on 12 April 2025 - 08:40 PM

This obviously doesn't answer your request, but in case you didn't already know, the four volume set of The Second Rabbinic Bible (Mikraot Gedolot) by Yaakov ben Hayyim (i.e. Jacob ben Chayyim) and published by Daniel Bomberg in 1524 is available online at the Internet Archive:

#47590 Having an issue with fonts

Posted by BNixon on 30 December 2024 - 05:14 PM

This raises additional questions that need to be asked to better understand the situation, such as:

Which version of e-Sword ToolTip Tool NT are you using?

Are you compiling a .cmtx commentary module using the Modules(3) menu (with .rtf codes) or are you compiling a .cmti commentary using the Modules(4) menu (with .html codes)?

If it might be needed, then I wonder why the author of e-Sword ToolTip Tool NT didn't include the #define font=DEFAULT variable in either the .cmtx commentary or the .cmti commentary Module Define Variables.   I only see the #define font=DEFAULT variable when selecting the BBLX - Bible File Module Define Variables using the Modules(3) menu.  Until tested, one might wonder what effect, if any, the #define font=DEFAULT variable would have on a compiled commentary module.

On the version of e-Sword ToolTip Tool NT that I am using, the "Font Size Set by e-Sword" menu option to be checked on or off is only present on the Modules(3) menu, not the Modules(4) menu. I wonder if this setting has any impact if one is compiling a module using the Modules(4) menu.

Because of the above, and more, I recommend viewing the module in DB Browser for SQLite and seeing what actual programming codes are being included along with the commentary text.

#47522 So, I've Decided To Translate the Septuagint I Have eSword Questions

Posted by BNixon on 17 December 2024 - 07:33 PM

Although it is from 1808, I enjoy Charles Thomson's English translation of the Septuagint.  You could compare it to your translation now and then as you make progress.  There are existing e-Sword modules for it.  They are available at:

#47503 Removing commentaries on iPad

Posted by BNixon on 14 December 2024 - 10:18 PM

How do I remove commentaries I no longer use from iPad?

Go to the "Resources" icon at the bottom right.

Go to the "Installed" button near the top left.

Scroll down until you find the Commentary that you want to remove and click on it to highlight it.

Hit the "Delete" button near the top right.

There should be a popup that asks you if you want to "Cancel" or "Delete"

Hit "Delete".

#47240 Installing e-Sword for Android on a Kindle Fire

Posted by BNixon on 26 October 2024 - 06:44 PM

Anyone else unable to download commentaries after installing on kindle? I'm not even able to see the list of commentaries to choose from. Is it a permissions issue?

Is it only commentaries that you are not able to see the list of, or is also Bibles, Devotionals, etc.?  I believe that a recent update of e-Sword for Android is incompatible with some older versions of Android and some Kindle tablets.  See also the forum topic:

http://www.biblesupp...-android-issue/

I reported my problem to the Developer (Rick Meyers) at the e-Sword website:  https://www.e-sword.net/feedback.html

I recommend that you report your problem also.

#46971 1611 Authorized bible with italics available?

Posted by BNixon on 18 September 2024 - 05:04 PM

Those who are huge fans of the 1611 KJV, including its font idiosyncrasies, may be interested in checking out the Bible Analyzer app for Windows, Macintosh, or Linux.  You can get the basic program for free and download the 1611 KJV for free also.  I thought the attention to detail was impressive.  I'll attach a screenshot.

#46696 1611 KJV

Posted by BNixon on 28 July 2024 - 08:05 PM

I'm working on an update to the KJV-1611 .bbli module that I uploaded recently.  I am getting rid of the extra line breaks as mentioned by PeanutGallery, adding HTML codes to get the Apocrypha verses in the same blue color that Rick Meyers uses for Apocrypha verses, and adding several Apocrypha verses missing from the uploaded module.  I also hope to add in 1Esdras, 2Esdras, and the Prayer of Manasseh.  I don't believe that the print version of the KJV Bible in 1611 included 3Maccabees.

#46663 Hello i am new

Posted by BNixon on 21 July 2024 - 01:49 PM

I have used WordSearch Bible software for years but it is no longer available and my hard drive just crashed so I am desperately searching for a replacement. I teach 3 Bible studies each week and need a program to help. Does Sword allow me to cut and paste from Bibles and commentaries to Microsoft Word

I have had success copying and pasting from e-Sword Bible modules and e-Sword Commentary modules into Microsoft Word.  See attached example.

There is an older version of WORDSearch Basic v.10 available on the Internet to download and install.  But if your hard drive crashed, it may not be worth the effort to install it since it will only come with one Bible and no Commentaries, unless you have backup copies of your Bibles and Commentaries that you can install from disk.

#46644 esword for mac | Language "skins"

Posted by BNixon on 16 July 2024 - 03:43 PM

In e-Sword for Windows, it is under Options and then Language (or App Language).  I can't speak for e-Sword for Mac though.  I don't know how to add your own skins.
