#45774 I cannot get my downloaded Bible module to work in E-Sword 10.0.7

Posted by ElderB on 08 January 2024 - 10:14 PM

Is there a module that i have to install in order to install resources when im at Bible Support?

You don't have to install and use the e-Sword module installer application, but I strongly recommend that you do use it if you are using a Windows PC.  This module enables you to double click on downloaded modules and they will get automatically installed into the correct folder typically. This module installer application is available here at:

#45761 What Modules do you want for e-Sword

Posted by ElderB on 07 January 2024 - 02:04 PM

Targum Onkelos

Targum Johnathan

English verisons

These are .refi and .topx modules, not Bible modules, but they are in English.  Not necessarily exactly what you are looking for or 100% complete, but better than nothing I hope.  The non-typical spelling of Turgum (instead of Targum) makes them more difficult to search for.  It also doesn't help that a non-standard spelling of Palistine (instead of Palestine) was used.

#45743 Getting unconfirmed downloads

Posted by ElderB on 04 January 2024 - 07:59 PM

I have version 13.0.0 of e-sword and I tried to download a module Speaking In Tongues by Phillip Mouro. I get a file called "Unconfirmed853487crdownload" that cannot be opened. What went wrong?

It is my personal experience that if you are using a recent version of Google Chrome, then your browser will not complete downloads from BibleSupport.com unless you go to the download icon near the top right of the browser and tell Chrome to "Keep" each file that you have started to download.  BibleSupport.com is considered insecure by Google Chrome because BibleSupport.com is an http:// website instead of a more secure https:// website.

#45648 Missing Font(s)

Posted by ElderB on 20 December 2023 - 09:09 PM

When I use "word" or "OneNote" the default font is Calibri, which I believe became the windows default font several years ago. So, I assume that is my default font. I am not sure how I would change the default font on windows.

Todd,

e-Sword has a Default Font.  That's the Default Font that you need to change, not the Windows Default Font.  It's on the same e-Sword dialog box where you change the Hebrew, Greek, and Latin fonts, under "Options" and "Font Settings..."

#45560 Installing purchased PC modules onto Esword for Android

Posted by ElderB on 08 December 2023 - 03:02 PM

And is it likewise possible to convert from android version of the modules to PC version with the converter app?

Thank you

If you have an Android e-Sword module such as a .BBLI Bible module, .CMTI Commentary module, etc. then they do not need to be converted to run on the current version of e-Sword for Windows PC.  Almost all of the modules will run very well.

If I understand what you are looking for, you only need to pay once to use a premium e-Sword resource on both your main PC and an Android device.  You will need to have the Product Key for the premium e-Sword resource available before you can download and install the resource on the second device.  This is an example of how to install an already paid for resource on an Android cell phone.  A KIndle may be similar:

1. Go to the BBL section.

2. Go to the menu in the top left corner

3. Go to the Download section and click on Bibles

4.  Find the previously purchased resource in the list and tap on it to select.

5. Tap on the download icon in the top right corner

6. Enter your email address and Product Key associated with the previously purchased resource.

7. Hit the Validate button

8. The rest of the download and install should follow from that point

#45135 How to Make e-Sword Modules - ToolTip NT User's Guide - .94 / Revision 2/...

Posted by ElderB on 29 September 2023 - 02:41 PM

If yes, what is the key and absolute necessary component of T4? The "bare bones"? If, say, 90% of the work can be done with a word processor what is that 10% T4 does?

In my opinion, the most important thing that T4 can do is to create either .RTF or .HTML SQLite database modules from various forms of text, while conforming to the SQLite database structure required by e-Sword.

In my opinion, the second most important thing that T4 can do is read in an existing e-Sword SQLite database module in .RTF format (or .HTML format) and convert the information so it can be edited if desired and eventually output to a SQLite database e-Sword module in .HTML format (or .RTF format).

#44630 The Ministry of Jesus - Rick Meyers

Posted by ElderB on 23 June 2023 - 09:57 AM

I do see "The Ministry of Jesus" (R. D. Meyers) in the Reference Books section of e-Sword on my Android cell phone, even though it isn't one of the Reference Books listed as available for downloading.  I assume that it is automatically installed with every copy of e-Sword for Android.

You will probably want to contact Rick Meyers at the e-Sword website: https://www.e-sword.net/

Since the book is copyright © 2016, we aren't going to be able to make a Windows PC version of it available here on BibleSupport.com presumably, unless Rick Meyers says that we can.

#44544 Installed Bible Never Showed Up - BIBi (PC) Berean Interlinear Bible 5-Layer...

Posted by ElderB on 08 June 2023 - 01:16 AM

Another possibility is that the Bible and Commentary modules were showing up, but were alphabetically in the "P" section of the tabs instead of in the "B" section.  That's because the old filenames began with PC_BIBi.  I uploaded new modules with filename that began with BIBi.

You will want to delete any of the existing modules with filenames that begin with PC_BIBi or BIBi, and install the new modules.

I also changed the module filenames to the default e-Sword for Windows file extensions.  The modules still have the same content.  Still HTML, not RTF.  Still version 4, not version 3.  That's how Rick Meyers does it with his official modules that can be downloaded from within e-Sword for Windows.

I also discovered that the Module Installer utility does not like to complete the installation of modules if the file extensions are capitalized.  The utility doesn't like .BBLX or .BBLI, etc., but will install the same modules if changed to .bblx or .bbli, etc.

#44314 Talmage, T. De Witt - 500 Selected Sermons (20 vols)

Good evening!  I would like to know if anyone could build a file for Apple iPad / Mac for the T. DeWitt Talmage sermons.  Josh Bond has downloads built but they will not work for Apple.  Thank you in advance. -rclements

Hopefully the download at the following URL will meet your needs:

#44248 Processing e-Sword version 8 top file with a later version of e-Sword for the PC

Posted by ElderB on 26 March 2023 - 08:32 PM

I understand that I'm not addressing the original concern, but I believe that "The Life and Times of Jesus the Messiah (Alfred Edersheim)" is one of the official e-Sword Reference Books that can be downloaded directly from within e-Sword and installed as the_life_and_times_of jesus_the_messiah.refx  1,431 KB.

If someone really needs a .topx version of the book instead of a .refx version, I assume that there are tools out there that can do the trick, but it appears that the information is also available within a library .topx file available at:

#44036 Tools to create a bbl file for an older version esword

Posted by ElderB on 11 February 2023 - 07:00 PM

You may be able to figure out how to use a current version of Microsoft Access.  It can read in .BBL files, which I believe are in Microsoft Access 2000 format.  You can see the database structure of an existing .BBL file and reuse the same structure for a .BBL file that you are creating.  When done with edits, save as a Microsoft Access 2000 .MDB file.  Rename the .MDB file with a .BBL extension.

If you are working with an existing .BBL file that is in a database format that is too old for Microsoft Access, you could also try the program "MDB Viewer Plus" from:
