#6162 Problems installing new MacArthur e-Sword module...

Posted by lidsavr on 02 February 2012 - 07:35 PM

Josh,
I had disabled the virus scanner just like you suggested. I also had deleted the msi6153.temp file; however, when I disabled my virus scanner, I did not realize that it has an additional program anti-virus program was running called, "Auto Protect." I needed to disable that as well.

The module installed OK after I disabled it. Thanks for the suggestion; it helped me look at the virus scanner solution again and discover the problem.

Blessings,

Charles

#5795 An ActiveX file installed from e-Sword???

Josh,
Thank you for your prompt reply. I also had seen the same posting, but did not understand that I had to download the same version to make the file disappear fromt the root directory. I do not have a problem with an activex file on my computer if it is suppose to be there.

I love the service that God provides through Rick Meyers in making e-Sword available to those who want to study the Word of God on a deeper level. In addition, I thank you Josh for providing this forum that answers my questions about the program!

Last, I am a strong believer in giving. Neither Rick Meyers or Josh Bond has asked me to say this, but if you have been blessed by e-Sword and have never donated to e-Sword, please go to the e-Sword web site (www.e-sword.net) and make a donation. Don't do it because you have to do it. Don't do it because it is the right thing to do - DO IT because it allows the work to continue and the Word of God to go forth. DO IT in thankfulness to God the Father for the blessings you have received from him!

#5780 An ActiveX file installed from e-Sword???

Posted by lidsavr on 20 January 2012 - 09:30 PM

I have a file in the root directory of my c:\ drive called Codejock.Controls.Unicode.v15.1.3.ocx. The file is an activeX control. I searched on the web forums concerning the file and a couple of the sites are saying that file appears after installing the new version of e-Sword (10.x). Has anyone seen this file. Is it valid? I do not like unknown software on my computer. Please reply if you have heard anything about it.

#2381 What Modules do you want for e-Sword

Posted by lidsavr on 01 October 2011 - 01:13 PM

I would really love to have McClintock and Strong's Cyclopedia of Biblical & Ecclessiastical Literature. . . It is a great resource to use in preparing sermons. I purchased the PC Study Bible just so I could purchase a searchable copy of it; however, I prefer e-Sword and would use it more often. I have started creating a module using scanned copies of the books, but it has 10 volumes and each volume has hundreds of entries. I have omitted the Hebrew and Greek characters because I do not feel comfortable with the accuracy of the Hebrew/Greek fonts that I have will match the book (I did keep the transliterated word though). So far I have appoximately 100 entries in Vol. 1 - A-B. At this rate, it will take a few years to complete them all.

If you know of anyone who has the module already complete for e-Sword, I would like a copy (I would also pay a reasonable price for it).

Thanks,

Charles
