#35945 "Compound" AND / OR search in Commentary & Dictionary

Posted by Toma on 23 May 2019 - 11:47 PM

Hello.  Can I perform a compound and / or search that looks something like this:

Term #1 AND (Term #2 OR Term #3).

In other words, I want to combine the power of both "AND" and "OR" searching in a single search--not just one or the other.

Thank you.

#34835 Compound "Exact" search in Extended Commentary Search

Posted by Toma on 09 December 2018 - 11:21 PM

Is there a way to do a *compound* Extended Commentary Search (i.e. search all the commentaries at one time) with the following conditions:

"Deu_12:14" (exactly as shown to the left minus the parenthesis, so that this exact verse reference will be found, but not just parts, like "12:14" or "Deu")

SEARCH FOR ALL OF THE WORDS

"Elijah" (so that only notes containing both (exactly) "Deu_12:14" and "Elijah" will be found?

#30292 Searching across multiple commentaries or Topics in Ref. Library

Posted by Toma on 17 March 2017 - 02:08 AM

Great day everyone,

Is it possible in any version of e-Sword to simultaneously search across all Commentary modules, versus just searching one commentary at a time?  Also, is this possible in any other pane, such as Dictionary, or the Reference Library?

The instructions manuals seem to suggest that searches can be performed across multiple "Topics" in the Reference Library, but I'm not sure precisely what this means, and oddly enough, no instructions are provided on how to actually do this.

Thank you,

Thomas

#23505 E-Sword 10.4 Ruins Bookmarks

Posted by Toma on 01 January 2015 - 03:06 AM

Great day all,

I installed E-Sword 10.4 and the bookmarks / hyperlinks that I had built using Tooltip, and which worked perfectly in E-Sword 10.1 are no longer working.  Tried re-creating them; tried installing the newest version of Tooltip (2.42).  Nothing works.  Is anybody familiar with this?

Next, due to the malfunctions and problems above, I attempted to load E-Sword 10.4 in a separate folder and run it simultaneously with E-Sword 10.1 on my Windows PC.  That would have been a nice backup option, but it doesn't work, as one seems to wipe out the other version.

Of course, I tried installing each version in a totally separate folder--even tried installing 10.4 on a flashdrive to keep it 100% separate from the existing version (10.1).  Still doesn't work.  Does anybody have a suggestion about how to run two different versions at the same time?  Any help will be greatly appreciated, and all the best in this new year :)

Thomas

#19271 Linking Dictionary References internally

Linking Dictionary references.jpg

Greetings all,

What function do you use in Tooltip to cause a Dictionary reference like this (see attached) to link to another entry?

In other words, I'm building a Dictionary module of my own with 10,000 words.  If I want one entry (e.g. "A4632") to link to another entry (e.g. "A 1235") how do I get it to do that when building the module?

Thank you.

#6333 How to Make e-Sword Modules - ToolTip NT User's Guide - .94 / Revision 2/...

Posted by Toma on 08 February 2012 - 08:24 PM

Wow Josh and Brent, this is AWESOME!  This Tooltip User's Guide was what I was looking for weeks ago.  (But thankfully, both of you ended up filling its shoes for that period; and for that i thank your gracious and diligent efforts.

I'm nearly done typing our my Bible Module (it's been almost a month now), and would like to know--since I'm using Tooltip 3.46--if there is a font editor like what Tooltip NT4 has in the User's guide.  In other words, from Tooltip 3.46 can I just as easily color my text, or am I limited to the "code" such as {\cf2}  ?

Also, is it possible to insert a space at the end of a book, in order that I can input the phrase in small text "This ends the book of Hebrews, sent by the hands of ..."  (Or are double spaces prohibited?

Thanks again!
Thomas
