Posted by Eliran Wong on 03 August 2018 - 06:30 AM in e-Sword Modules / Resources

Stephen,

Does this trick apply to device of small screen size?  I do have a PC to test.

Blessings,

Eliran

#34361 NIV, NASB, NLT and AMP on MySword

Posted by Eliran Wong on 06 September 2018 - 03:55 AM in MySword

Hi Eliran,

I have in the past mentioned to Denys, that there are resources that should not be available and they did take some down.

If you make a list of copyright modules and send it I am sure they will have another go at cleaning their act up.

Jon

Hi Jon,

Yes, Denys is a good person.  I mentioned to him and Oleg occasionally.  I had just sent another brief list of 33 English bibles.

Blessings,

Eliran

#34353 NIV, NASB, NLT and AMP on MySword

Posted by Eliran Wong on 05 September 2018 - 04:58 AM in MySword

You might want to look at MyBible for some translations that are not available in MySword.  The program has a lot to offer. NASB+, ISV, etc .  Check it out on the android and apple.
God bless the study of His word,
Carl, the FreeMan

I don’t think Christians should be happy if someone offers something in an illegal way. I think MyBible should clean up all materials, which they don’t have permssions to post.

#34118 Modules compatibility

I think it is not difficult to convert a MySword module into a e-Sword module.  There are tools around, I think.

#34221 Greek NT INT+ translation

Posted by Eliran Wong on 04 August 2018 - 04:43 PM in e-Sword Modules / Resources

I had just updated English glosses in a Greek-English interlinear module, OGNTii.bbli (compatible with PC v11+/Mac/iPad/iPhone), available at:

http://www.biblesupp...nt-interlinear/

You may read details about OpenGNTGloss at https://github.com/eliranwong/OpenGNT

#34199 Greek NT INT+ translation

Posted by Eliran Wong on 02 August 2018 - 03:47 AM in e-Sword Modules / Resources

It is an error in the database of Eliran Wong: G444 means man/men.

By the way: G80 is brethen/brother/brothers

Yes, the error rooted in the original source.  I now switch to a new database, https://github.com/eliranwong/OpenGNT, from which I created e-Sword modules and made available at http://www.biblesupp...nt-interlinear/

I myself no longer use Greek NT INT+, as I found more errors in the original source.  However, I am thinking to create another file, like the one I did for Greek NT INT+.

#34132 Greek Dictionary

Posted by Eliran Wong on 19 July 2018 - 11:46 AM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

Here’s my problem: I was studying some Greek sentences in a book, ΝΟΤ ΙΝ e-Sword. Came across a word I did not know, “λαμεχ”. Went to e-Sword. Although I have lexicons and dictionaries in e-Sword HD on my iPad I was not able to look up the word since I did not know the Strong’s number (needed for the lexicons) and entering the greek word in the dictionaries came up empty. So, is there a dictionary of Greek words available so that I could enter any Greek word, e.g., λαμεχ and get the english gloss? Would I need to know the lemma? Is there a module?

Yes, such a dictionary is available in some of my uploads, e.g.

http://www.biblesupp...nt-interlinear/

File: OGNT.dcti - You can lookup any Greek words in OGNT with this dictionary.

Usage:
In PC, click a Greek word, and check result in OGNT dictionary.
In Mac / e-Sword X, select a Greek word > Right-click / Long-hold > "Define" > OGNT
In iPhone / iPad, select a Greek word > Long-tap > "Lookup" > OGNT

#34133 Greek Dictionary

You can also type Greek word in search field.

I remembered I had once uploaded a Greek dictionary here, which supports unaccented Greek.  That makes typing in mobile device much easier.

#36021 Gathering Interest - Hebrew Bible - ETCBC (4c) - interlinear, morphology, lin...

Posted by Eliran Wong on 19 June 2019 - 03:53 AM in Module Requests

I hope and pray that you will port this data to eSword. While I have access to many different resources and (expensive) bible programs - I find eSword to be the one I continue to use the most, as for me, it is the most intuitive and user friendly software I have found. Please, if support is an issue, email me at david.e.robinson7@gmail.com and discuss what I can do to help.

sorry, I seldom check this forum recently.   I put the data in an cross-platform app: https://github.com/e...ong/UniqueBible

I found e-Sword have lots of limitations on putting Hebrew resources.  I did put in eSword ( http://www.biblesupp...os-ipad-iphone/ ), but the e-sword software itself limits the use of these data.

#34117 EPUB/PDF/MOBI to BBLX

Posted by Eliran Wong on 18 July 2018 - 07:45 AM in e-Sword Modules / Resources

epub could be a good candidate for being converted into e-Sword.

sorry, I cannot go into details, as it depends on how your file is formatted.

In Mac, it can be as easy as just a few steps listed below:
- open terminal, type “unzip filename.epub”
- type “cat *.html > file.csv” to combine all html files within the epub in a single file.
- edit “file.csv” with a simple text editor to capture verse entries for each commentary, it could be quick if the source if well-formatted
- import into a .bbli file, which work in Mac/iOS/ PC version 11+

#34158 Creating commentaries and modules anno 2018

Posted by Eliran Wong on 22 July 2018 - 05:32 PM in e-Sword Resource Installation

As you are a web-developer, creating e-Sword commentary should be a piece of cake for you.

Latest version of e-Sword supports html-based modules in sqlite file.

Simply format entries in html and import into a sqlite template for e-Sword.

If your source is a well-formatted one, it may take around 0-15 min to create a module.

You may try download one of my newly uploaded commentary, LGNTDF, open it with a sqlite editor and take a look.

This file is a very simple one.

Levinsohn's Greek New Testament Discourse Features

Source: https://github.com/b...ities/levinsohn

These files contain Stephen Levinsohn's complete discourse features markup of the Greek New Testament (UBS4/NA27). This data was originally developed in BART and follow principles Levinsohn documented in his volume of Discourse Features of New Testament Greek. This volume is the best comprehensive description of these features and is available here on Amazon:
https://www.amazon.c...k/dp/1556710933
A good way to get an overview of this data is to look at the BART displays, which can be seen here:
http://www-01.sil.or...sohns/BART.html
For a brief explanation of the markup, see this document:
http://www-01.sil.or...RTdisplayNT.pdf
For a nice description of how this data is valuable for exegesis, see this article:
http://www-01.sil.or...ot2006-2-02.pdf
Our hope in making this data available is to foster ongoing reflection and discussion as to how Greek discourse features impact exegetical and translation concerns.

The above file works independently with different bibles module.  Inline commentary within a Greek text is made available at my OpenGNT series:
