Tooltip Tool documentation: e-Sword ToolTip Tool NT

NOTE when building a .bblx file.
What you need to do on the last line of text is put an enter for a new line, then put a space on the next blank line and enter for a new line. So it would look like
Rev 22:21 text goes here then [press enter key]
[space here][press enter key]

If you don't do this then the last line in your Bible will be missing. There isn't a problem with .bbli files.

Hi Tj. Higgns

Okay, thanks for the info.

You mean Strongsplus.dct.mybible file?

What I don't understand is: how do I copy the Strongsplus.dct.mybible file into my project?

Unfortunately, I can't open this file with ToolTip.

Regards,

Miro

No the file I am referring to is the Strongs Plus Dictionary Greek Hebrew Equivalent module available at this link

http://www.biblesupp...rew-equivalent/

From that link download the StrongsPlus.dctx module file

You will need to open that module and your new rtf file in Tooltip which allows multiple documents to be open at the same time. Open a new rtf file with the dctx module headers, then click "File" from the Tooltip menu and from the file menu click "New" this will open new document window in Tooltip. Then from the menu at the top to Tooltip click "Modules" (not Modules HD), from the modules menu click "Dictionary" and then click "Read Dictionary - Single Block" This will open an open files window from which you will open the downloaded StrongsPlus.dctx module, this may take a minute or so to fully open. To move back and fourth between the StrongsPlus file and your rtf file, click "Document" from the Tooltip menu this will open a menu listing all of the files you have open in Tooltip. You simply click the file from the list to switch from one to the other. With both files open you will be able to copy and paste from the StrongsPlus module to your rtf file.

To translate from the English to German you will need to use a translator such as Google Translate

When you create your dictionary module make to sure to create it as a dctx module and not a dcti module. This will allow you to access the dctx module file in Tooltip if you need to

Hello Tj. Higgns

OK. Thanks...

But when I create my StrongsPlus1.dctx file from the original StrongsPlus.dctx file, without changing anything, then I run into problems: my .dctx file no longer displays the Greek letters correctly.

That is, I read the StrongsPlus.dctx file and immediately afterwards, I create a DCTX file via Modules > Dictionary > Save .DCTX.

The Greek letters are no longer displayed correctly.

I've been trying to fix this problem for two weeks now, and somehow the conversion to ToolTip in .DCTX isn't working.

What could be causing this?

Regards

I'm slowly coming to a grim realization that this tooltip is creating the wrong dictionary.

The original StrogPlus.dctx is approximately 14.5MB.

When I convert the original StrogPlus.dctx to a New.dctx file, it's only 9MB.

Where did the 5.5MB of data go?

You don't have to create or convert the StrongsPlus module just open it in Tooltip and then manually Highlight, copy and paste the information from StrongsPlus into your module's rft file. You do not need to change the  StrongsPlus module. Think of it as a template as you work on your module file.

If you read what I wrote above I explained that you will have two files open in Tooltip at the same time one will be your new clean RTF file and the other will be the StrongsPlus module. Do not keep using your existing rtf file that you have been using as it may have become corrupted This might be what is causing the issues you are having.

To create a new dictionary RTF file in Tooltip click Modules>Module Define Variables>DCTX - Dictionary

This will add the following headers to your RTF file:

#define description=DESC

#define abbreviation=ABBR

#define comments=CMTS

#define version=3

#define strong=0

#define nosort=0

รท

You will need to change the 0 in the #define strong=0 to a 1 this will tell e-Sword that this is a Strong's dictionary.

From the Tooltip Click File>New this will open a new blank window in Tooltip

With this new blank window open Click Modules> Dictionary>Read Dictionary - Single Block this will open an Open files Window from which you will locate the StrongsPlus.dctx module you will then click open to have Tooltip read the module. This may take a minute or so.

You will copy text from this module and then paste into your new RTF file.

To switch from the StrongsPlus module back to your module Click Documents from the Tooltip menu this will display a list of all documents the are currently open in Tooltip. Your file will at the top of list as New Document the StrongsPlus module will be listed second also as New Document. You can change this by saving the open StrongsPlus as an rtf file if you want this will change the name of the file in the Documents list.

It will a bit time consuming to copy and past the dictionary entries from the StrongsPlus module to your new RTF file but this method will work

Make sure to save your RTF file occasionally so you do not lose anything. Once you have a few entries in your module you can create your dctx module and check it e-Sword.

Hi Tj Higgins

Thank you so much for this expert and visually appealing description...

You really put a lot of effort into it. THANK YOU!

Now it finally works!

I can't tear myself away from the computer now, because work is fun again!

You know, after two weeks of my useless work, I was starting to despair.

Best regards,
Miro
