In Topic: Linking to a resource module from commentary

No Commentaries cannot link to reference (refi) documents. As I said before if the commentaries and appendices are single document you can use internal links within the single document.

Thanks!  That's what I needed to know.

If the commentary and appendices are one single document you can create bookmarks and hyperlinks within that document to jump from section to section, e-Sword does not allow for links between separate commentary documents.  However commentary modules can work in conjunction with Dictionary modules so that when a single word is clicked in a commentary such as God for example, a dictionary module will display a definition for God.

Thanks for the response, and apologies for my delay in responding.

The commentary and appendices are separate documents.  The commentary is a .cmti file and the appendices are a .refi file. I know that commentaries can link to dictionaries, as your example for Strong's numbers.  My question is can commentaries (.cmti) link to reference documents (.refi), and cause the reference window to open with the appropriate reference doc loaded?

Thanks.

In Topic: Installing E-Sword HD modules for IPAD from PC

Thanks very much to JPG, the problem has been solved.

This was the problem:  The title of the Bible I am working with is "Revised English Version".  While the PC version of ES allows this, the Apple versions apparently reject it.  All I had to do to successfully generate the bbli is change the title to "RevisedEnglishVersion" (no spaces), and it worked.  As simple as that seems, it took a few hours to track it down.

Again, kudos to JPG.

A link to the offending module will be helpful for ones to determine the issue.

It's not public yet, and I do not want to upload a module here that does not work... Is there a way to get visibility into what the problem is?  Are there characters or formatting that eSword PC permits that eSword HD does not?  Again, the bblx loads fine on the PC.  When converted to a bbli it is rejected. Thanks.

Thanks for the reponses! Turns out the bbli files i had must have an issue, not sure what it is yet. However I downloaded one from this site and it loaded right away. Not sure why the other ones wont load. Maybe a bad file. Not sure. At least I know that I can load them now. Thanks again!

How does a person find out what the issue is with a bbli file?  I made a bblx file that works fine with the PC version of e-Sword, but when I convert the bblx to a bbli file using the conversion utility and copy it to the shared files for e-Sword HD (or e-Sword LT), when I launch either app, the file disappears and it is not available in either app.

I saw this from the FAQ: "If there are any problems with a module it will be deleted!".

How can I determine what the problem is?  Thanks!
