#17725 Dificulties with Glover - The Jesus of History

It could be under References. Click on Tools > Reference Library to see if it's listed there. It doesn't sound like a commentary or dictionary so I would check there.

Wow. What a blessing you all are. Thank you so much.

How silly is that not to write down your references as you go ;) ? This is the first in a series of books. Had to go back and find all of them and since I had about 17 books I consulted for references, I think I've learned my lesson quite well. Wracked my brain trying to find that reference. Flipped through the whole New Testament section but I was looking for how I formatted it so I never found it. Now I'm looking dead at it. Thank you very much.

@exscentric and Roy - if you'd like a free copy as one of my alpha readers, let me know. Least I could do.

@patchworkid - Almost did that last night but decided to ask first. I have plenty of good commentaries. Didn't want to spend $30.00 on something I already had which was actually cheaper than the E-Sword version.

God bless you and keep you.

#13776 Who was the 1st Black Man? What is that story?

Posted by P.R.E.Z. on 04 November 2012 - 05:07 AM

The dark skinned line of human beings descended from Ham whose name means "hot, burnt, or dark". His son Cush, whose name means "black" is said to be the father of the Ethiopians, while his other son, Mizraim, is the father of the Egyptians.

Cush is generally the son from which most blacks identify with as well as Phut (Put) to a lesser extent in the North African regions. Canaan is believed to be the father of the Far Eastern and Pacific peoples: Chinese, Japanese, Eskimos, Koreans, etc. However, there are some that categorize them as descendents of Japheth though biblical and anthropological evidence lean heavily that they are from the line of Ham.
