#24550 Where to post converted files for Apple devices?

Posted by Shane82 on 01 April 2015 - 10:19 PM

I recently purchased and began using e-Sword X.

I've been converting e-Sword modules from files that are compatible with e-Sword 10.4 (PC) to Apple compatible files (for example, converting commentaries from cmtx to cmti files).

I would like to make these files available to everyone so that others do not need to do the conversion process. However, I don't want to create new module postings separate from the posts I downloaded from.

What's the best way to make the converted files available to others?

Thanks!

#24543 e-Sword X for Mac OS X

I've purchased e-sword x as well and I'm excited that this great resource is no longer restricted to my old PC! This is well worth the price, especially considering that I've used the PC version for years of free study.

I've found a few modules on biblesupport that have an Apple version ready for download: commentaries by Utley, Preacher's Homiletic Commentary, and College Press (green books). But most resources here do not yet have an Apple version for download, so I'll be doing a lot of converting myself soon.

The two features that I miss the most from the PC version: "info" icons that indicate when a module contains content regarding the current verse, and completely flexible window formatting.

The info icons would be a major time-saver for using commentaries and dictionaries, especially since the tabs have been replaced by a drop-down menu. I often do not need the dictionary and concordance windows, and on my small Mac screen, would prefer for them to disappear.

Overall, this is a major blessing as a resource. My bible study time will be much more efficient and effective. Thanks to Rick and everyone contributing!
