About Me

My name is Rob Wolfram and I live in the Netherlands.

As my handle implies, I am an atheist. My definition of an atheist is one who lacks belief in a god or in gods, kinda like the word ἄθεος in Ephesians 2:12 is translated in most bibles. Your likely next question will likely be: "what is he doing here?" I am very interested in religion from a historical and philosophical POV. For that reason I have taken it on myself to read the bible from cover to cover for the first time, a project which I finished in November 2011. To do that, e-Sword and MySword were very valuable tools. They still are and I still use them every day.

My purpose here is not to deconvert anyone. My road from religion to atheism was personal and so it should be. I was never "born-again". I was a weak Christian and it was actually studying the scriptures that was the main cause for loosing the little bit of religion that I had left. Once upon a time I wrote an article depicting how I came to be an atheist and most of it is still relevant. If you're interested, see that article. It's much more elaborate than I would wish to put on an "About Me" page.

Android browser vulnerability

I hope this post is not out of place, if it is a moderator is free to delete the post. Since MySword is an Android app, i thought this warning might be appropriate.

If you use a pre-KitKat version of Android (i.e Android version 4.3 or lower), do not use the stock browser, instead use a browser like Firefox or Chrome. The stock browser (aka AOSP browser) has a vulnerability that can be trivially exploited which allows a malevolent site to hijack other session that you have active at the same time. Dictionaries - Topical Bible

At the request of user AllofUs, I have created a dictionary module based on the Topical Bible at http://www.openbible.info/topics/. This is a user-generated list op topics with bible references that can be voted on for relevance. Based on that input the administrator at the site generated a data file weekly with the references and that is used as input for this module.

Since the file is updated weekly I will also update the module frequently and upload the updated module here. I'm not yet sure of the frequency for updating the module here but I will make a scheduled task to automatically create the module on a weekly basis and make that available on my own website. Details will follow when I've created the scheduled task.
