There isn't anything that anyone can do to "make" himself or herself acceptable to the God. But that for one to present himself or herself as a living sacrifice which is holy and acceptable to the Lord.

Only the blood of Jesus, which cleanses us from all sin and unrighteousness (1Jn 7-9) is actually what makes us to be that holy and acceptable sacrifice.
