#44659 Why the Grey? Greek New Testament (Interlinear) w/ Strong's Numbers

Posted by Katoog on 01 July 2023 - 08:14 AM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

Greek NT INT+ is based on the ν = ΝΑ28 [=UBS5] text.

By textual variants for example spelling variants of  "David" is the dark grey based on other sources.

α = Alexandrian [= UBS3/UBS4/NA26/NA27]
τ = Stephens 1550 Textus Receptus
σ = Scrivener 1894 Textus Receptus
β = Byzantine Majority

So ν = ΝΑ28 [=UBS5] text is never dark grey.

#44662 Why the Grey? Greek New Testament (Interlinear) w/ Strong's Numbers

Posted by Katoog on 01 July 2023 - 12:50 PM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

I'm fully aware of theomatics (God's mathematics) and that the "heptadic meter" (x7 or base 7) used by Panin not the only meter used in the Bible
I support x7,x10,x12,x17,x22,x23,x32,x40,x70 meters and testing x6,x8,x11,x18,x37 and x73 meters.

Psalm 119 has 176 verses based on 8x22 Hebrew letters as first letter of the verse.
Genesis 1 has 6 times "And it was evening and it was morning" * day as repetition.

The "Beatitudes" of Matthew Mat 5:3-12 has 9 times the word "μακαριοι"(Blessed) as first word of the verse or statement.
Or 10 times "μακαριοι" in Matthew including Mat 13:16 .

So the "heptadic meter" is not the only meter.

And the "Bible code" is "ELS" that is not used as checksum.

The Greek source of Palin is an edit based on the Westcott and Hort with textual variants in the margin while supporting Asaph instead of Asa in Mat 1:7-8
And Amos instead of Amon in Mat 1:10 in his Greek text.

Those are not spelling variants but the wrong names.

#44729 Typo in Gen.1:11 KJV?

Posted by Katoog on 21 July 2023 - 10:50 AM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

Not a typo but a correction done by the publisher of your KJV edition.

The KJV 1611 has "after his kinde" and the KJV 1769 has "after his kind" 12 times in 7 verses in Genesis

Gen_1:11; Gen_1:12; Gen_1:21; Gen_1:24; Gen_1:25; Gen_6:20; Gen_7:14.

One of the corrections in the Webster Bible was "after its kind"

The inaccuracies in grammar, such as which for who, his for its, shall for will, should for would, and others, are very numerous in the present version.

#44748 Typo in Gen.1:11 KJV?

biblegateway.com has 2 official editions of the KJV: (not counting the KJ21 and Webster).

1) KJV based on the the 1987 printing that is in verse per line format. (KJV)
But lacks italics. I think that it is an Oxford edition.

2) Authorized (King James) Version (AKJV) in paragraph format and poetic layout
by the Cambridge University Press.

Both editions using British spelling.
Some differences between both editions in biblegateway.com:

#46316 Trouble opening downloaded modules

Posted by Katoog on 01 June 2024 - 01:47 AM in New e-Sword Downloads

Only exe files need to install.

zip files need to open with explorer or a program as 7-zip. and be unziped to the e-Sword map

The default map for normal modules is:

for the 64bit version of Windows

C:\Program Files (x86)\e-Sword

or for the 32bit version of Windows

C:\Program Files\e-Sword

By exe files trouble read this:

https://www.makeuseo...-files-windows/

It is easier to answer questions if you give more information.

Which modules? Is it a zip or an exe or a normal module extension?

The e-Sword edition and the OS edition that you use?

Is there any way to fix this, where I can have the full complete names of each bible and them show up in the compare function that way without the kjv kjv+ also showing up?

Yes, you can make a copy of kjv and kjv+ and rename the copies while uncheck the originals in Bible -> Bible Compare Settings

#45357 Regular Expressions and Westcott Hort Greek NT

Posted by Katoog on 13 November 2023 - 12:59 PM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

e-Sword using tags between Strong's and Morphology.

I used my Restored Textus Receptus or Greek NT WH+ and type:

G2296</num> <tvm>V-..N

with Regular Expressions(REGEX)

Mat 15:31 θαυμασαιG2296 V-AAN

Mat 27:14 θαυμαζεινG2296 V-PAN

Mar 15:5 θαυμαζεινG2296 V-PAN

2Th 1:10 θαυμασθηναιG2296 V-APN

In Gal 1:6 is θαυμαζωG2296 V-PAI-1S an Indicative.

#45327 Regular Expressions and Westcott Hort Greek NT

Why do you use TVM if you can use Robinson's Morphological Analysis Codes?

The only thing that you need to do is to type V-

in Regular expressions(REGEX) with a Greek Bible module that has the codes.

#45021 Red Letter KJV Pure Cambridge Edition Bible

TheWord is another Bible program:

#45019 Red Letter KJV Pure Cambridge Edition Bible

Posted by Katoog on 10 September 2023 - 08:15 AM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

There is one available for TheWord but it is locked and have no red letter in 1Corinthians, 2Corinthians and Revelations for the words of Jesus.

From theWord edition as "update":

3. Red Lettering -  The red lettering, an American innovation, has been modified to match the PCE by removing all red lettering from Acts 1:9 on.

The Cambridge Cameo Edition Bible states, "With the words of our Lord while upon earth printed in red."

These are the words he spoke, but not the words others spoke in quoting him, from Mat 1:1-Act 1:9.

More recent red letter editions have begun making red the words Jesus spoke after his resurrection as well as his words quoted by others.

Using the default version of the KJV of e-Sword 13 and type in Regular expressions (REGEX):

<red>

Then see you the "red letters" in blue background.

Use this information  on  KJV:PCE to edit:

And be sure that you not harm the italics or bold or the paragraphs.

#44650 question about searching all e-sword resources

Posted by Katoog on 28 June 2023 - 10:39 PM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

If you use the PC version of e-Sword:

For the first question: click on the Bible or Commentary menu and "extended search"

With the Books icon can you select all

For the "hell" search need you also search for Sheol, Hades, Gehenna and Tartarus

I have no hell in my translation because I use Sheol(Hades), Gehenna and Tartarus instead.

The Hebrew Sheol and Greek Hades means underworld or realm of death.

The Greek word Gehenna is a fire place to burn human trash.

The Greek word Tartarus is only used in 2Pe 2:4

For the second question: commentaries that have the verse are marked with a blue info icon. (If v for verse is selected)

#46283 Newbie Question

Posted by Katoog on 25 May 2024 - 03:55 AM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

The commentary is connected with the Bible verse that you used just before you close the program.

If e-Sword have trouble to remember the Bible last verse that you used we you open e-Sword again then is it because he did not save it.

Click on help in the program and "Reset e-Sword settings to fix it.
