#42525 BDAG Greek lexicon for e-Sword?

Posted by JohnPD on 12 March 2022 - 07:34 AM in e-Sword Modules / Resources

Is there such a resource either paid, or free? I don't see one anywhere.

#42477 Can someone help me Keil and Delitzsch

Posted by JohnPD on 04 March 2022 - 05:10 PM in e-Sword Modules / Resources

I asked about this before, and was wondering why they are not clickable links, or at least why they don't have a pop-up explaining the meaning of the word in English, or a Strong's reference to the word. There is no such thing in e-Sword. There are modules you can purchase for Olive Tree, and Logos that are clickable etc. I also believe the Blue Letter Bible, which is online through your browser has many resources that do what you and I would both like. Unless you can read Greek or Hebrew they are of no use in e-Sword.

#42417 Angels and Demons in the bible?

Posted by JohnPD on 26 February 2022 - 06:57 PM in e-Sword Modules / Resources

Are there any resources that list and tell about all of the angels and demons in the bible? When I used to use Logos bible study, they had a resource that was very helpful studying angels and demons.

#42299 e-Sword vs. MySword

Posted by JohnPD on 04 February 2022 - 04:31 PM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

If you're stuck on a decision as to whether to choose Windows, Google, or a Mac product to run any version of Esword, I would go with a Windows based product for the number of resources available. If you want reliability and a virus free environment, I'd chose a Mac, or Apple based product. I would personally avoid Google based products, but that's just me. Out of the two, between Windows and Apple based products, I still 100% would choose Apple over Windows. I Have both, and prefer the interface of the Apple/Mac based product over the Windows version of Esword.

Thank you, I'll look into them.

#42215 Greek and Hebrew words in dictionaries have no pop-up defining the words

I'm not putting down esword, but even my free olive tree app lets me look up greek and hebrew words within the dictionary.

#42213 Greek and Hebrew words in dictionaries have no pop-up defining the words

Posted by JohnPD on 24 January 2022 - 05:52 PM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

All of them that come with esword, plus a slew of others I have downloaded from here. It would be easier to name some that do what I want them to do than to list each dictionary I have installed that doesn't do what I would think they all should do.

Hawker, Hitchcock, ISBE, nave, rmac, Schofield, Smith, torrey, webster, Cyclopedia of biblical, theological, and ecclesiastical literature, complete and a-g and h-z dictionaries, Easton, fausset, Hastings, BDB hebrew, KJC, mounce, strongs, thayer, dictionary of Christ in the gospels. Thats what I have so far, and none do what I would think they should do

#42210 Greek and Hebrew words in dictionaries have no pop-up defining the words

Like which one? I haven't found any that allow me to do what I want to.

#42207 Greek and Hebrew words in dictionaries have no pop-up defining the words

Posted by JohnPD on 24 January 2022 - 04:30 PM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

When I'm in the bible view and click a word to get a definition in the dictionaries section, it shows the word and what it means in the various dictionaries that I have installed, but it shows either the greek or hebrew word in blue letters, yet when i hover on those words in any dictionary it does nothing.

Why not? I mean like i'd like to know what the original root word means and where the word i'm looking up came from, like did it come from another root word in the original languages? am I missing something here?

#42121 Study notes not showing information icon that i have notes on a certain verse

Posted by JohnPD on 13 January 2022 - 04:43 PM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

I got it fixed, somehow esword made the default file save location to be in OneDrive, which I don't use. I removed OneDrive and esword, then installed esword again and it now saves files where they are supposed to be saved, and I now get the information icon on the study notes tab when I'm on a verse that has a note attached to.

#42103 Study notes not showing information icon that i have notes on a certain verse

Posted by JohnPD on 07 January 2022 - 11:28 AM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

I read chapter 10, and I'm not getting the line under the verses that have study notes either, yet when I click the locate study notes button it shows my study notes.

#42100 Study notes not showing information icon that i have notes on a certain verse

Posted by JohnPD on 07 January 2022 - 10:40 AM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

Is there a certain way to enter the note? I mean does the note have to be synchronized with the verse or not in order for the information icon to show next to the study notes tab?

I wouldn't think it would make a difference, but without the information icon showing next to the study notes tab it defeats the purpose of taking study notes in the program. Without the information icon showing how is one supposed to remember whether or not they have a note taken for certain verses?

I'm wondering if I took or saved the note wrong for it to not show. The tutorial on the eSword site for study notes and creating your own commentary is fairly vague, and was made for eSword version 6.5.0

#42098 Study notes not showing information icon that i have notes on a certain verse

Posted by JohnPD on 07 January 2022 - 08:10 AM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

Just as the title says. When I create study notes I can find them later by clicking the locate study notes button in the study notes tab, but there is no information icon next to the study notes tab when i go the verse in the bible tab window. Am I missing something here? I'm running the latest version of esword, and windows 10.
