#46059 The Books of the Natsarim and the Enlightened Ones
Posted by gad4 on 09 March 2024 - 08:33 AM in Module Requests
As to its authenticity, there are two levels.
1. Is this really a book found in the 15th century?
And if so,
2. Is this an ancient document that was made centuries earlier.
Regarding point 1, I'm not finding anything verifying that the story of these books being found is verified. I'm not finding anything either past or present acknowledging the existence of such a 15th century manuscript
Maybe it's because he renamed things and I'm open to hearing otherwise, but unless evidence surfaces, I'm leaning towards this being a modern fraud
Nothing would make me happier than the gospel of the Hebrews to surface or exist, but it's a missing book. The last known copy was believed destroyed by Muslims in burning of the library of Caesarea.
Some attempts have been made to compile the exerts found in the Church fathers, but that's the best we have.
We are fortunate to have 4 existing accounts of the gospels. Plus non canonical books. Plus the early church fathers.
Lost books are truly lost.
I'm sorry.

#45800 Preachers Outline and Sermon Bible

The preachers outline requested I have looked at
On one side, it has many prepared sermon outlines, however the danger is that one can use it instead of doing actual research and Bible study
It's just too easy for a pastor to take an outline, preach what resonates with him and conform to the writer, rather than use multiple dictionaries and commentaries to truly study the word and allow the word to convict and change one's understanding.
#45613 Dictionary recommendations?
Posted by gad4 on 15 December 2023 - 12:02 AM in e-Sword Modules / Resources
It doesn't show up as ego for me in strongs
I'm wondering if either the wrong word was selected or a coding error in the module
There are many good additional dictionaries here.
But I'm not seeing this particular problem.
#45926 Puritan Paperbacks update

I meant when i go to my book tab, I'll see 54 listings in my book tab on mysword which will overpower my list. Also it will add 54 files to the book directory.
I agree the memory used will be comparable and minor . Just if i install it i would like to have a manageable size list.

Forgive me for asking, but what makes you think this is one of the greatest modules ever?
Im not finding much about this and no real raving reviews.
Is this something from your particular denomination?
Thanks

#45130 Is there a Greek OT (LXX) in English Module for E-Sword?
Posted by gad4 on 28 September 2023 - 07:20 PM in e-Sword Questions & Answers
To make such a correlation, first you need to go back to the greek nt. Then you need the lxx that matches the lxx the Apostles used. This may not exist.
While later, the Oregons hexepla correlated several greek new Testament that existed at that time. Just as we have numerous English Bible translations that exist today
While closer to the source there may have been more than one greek ot at the time of jesus.
We are fortunate that the ot is preserved through the masoretic text and septugant helping us understand it from that time. But we may not have a word for word match septuagant in all cases

I'm not understanding how it would be different than using modern cultural meaning to interpret the kjv.
I could see its use for the early church fathers or Koran, but seems to modern for Bible words
