#44578 can search results be docked?

#44584 can search results be docked?
Posted by PeanutGallery on 17 June 2023 - 04:03 PM in e-Sword Questions & Answers
Now, I'm sort of getting a bit confused.
So what do you guys mean by "dock" when it comes to the search results or whatever?
From a Programmer's perspective, something which is docked, is like the different windows you see in the main e-Sword interface, of which it cannot be moved, minimized, maximized, or resized. That is Docked.
So, a bit of clarification might just help me in understanding what you guys are talking about.
I assumed that OP's 'dock' meant Search tab was accessible while browsing in the Bible tab, or switching between Search tab and Bible tab; thus, my response.
Olaf Bacon provides a method of 'dock' by accessing a permanent list of verses which is accessible while browsing the Bible, Compare or Parallel tabs.
#44625 Where are underlines stored.

Are underlines used in e-Sword kept in markup.ovlx or another db?
#44628 Where are underlines stored.
Posted by PeanutGallery on 22 June 2023 - 06:20 PM in e-Sword Questions & Answers
Yep.
Not only that, so too are Highlights stored in the same file. That said, you can also create new markup files and give them a unique filename (pretty much the same way one can with topic, study, and journal Note files).
Thanks, that means underline will move around depending on whether Pericope is toggled on/off.
#44696 Option to Remove Hebrews from Pauline Epistles Search

#44703 Option to Remove Hebrews from Pauline Epistles Search

...
Below shows exactly why it can't be done...
First step was to select:
Search: Paul's letters (Rom -- Hebrews)
That would eliminate the need to search for Romans in the Range:
Second step was to cut out Hebrews from Paul's list, without having to search for Philemon:
Range: Select Philemon
Results: will not include Hebrews
..........
As for the image; I have not been able to duplicate the original image, so I have no idea why 'Paul's letters (Rom -- Hebrews)' remained visible after I selected Philemon.
#44730 Typo in Gen.1:11 KJV?
Posted by PeanutGallery on 21 July 2023 - 11:01 AM in e-Sword Questions & Answers
And God said, Let the earth bring forth grass, the herb yielding seed, and the fruit tree yielding fruit after his kind, whose seed is in itself, upon the earth: and it was so. (Gen 1:11 KJV)Is there a typo in the phrase "yielding fruit after his kind". My printed version of the KJV has "yielding fruit after its kind".
PeterN
NKJV uses 'its kind'; maybe that is what you are using? I checked my various hard copies of KJB, they all have 'his kind'.
#44739 Typo in Gen.1:11 KJV?

I was confused about the AKJV; apparently, there are two AKJV Bibles:
1) Cambridge Authorized version used on biblegateway.com ; used by e-Sword
2) American King James version used on StudyBible.info

I prefer the Americanized spelling rather than the Brit spelling, mostly because it makes more sense, despite the fact that here in Kiwi-Land we use Brit spelling as our default method.
I like bucking the system.
Blessings,
Americanized:
2 Timothy 3:17 (AKJV)
That the man of God may be perfect, thoroughly furnished to all good works.
KJV:
2Timothy 3:17 That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works.
There is a difference between 'thoroughly' and 'throughly'; which makes more sense?
#44822 e-Sword for Android updated August 3, 2023 in the Google Play Store
Posted by PeanutGallery on 05 August 2023 - 10:13 PM in e-Sword Questions & Answers
What's new
Bible searches can now use Regular Expressions! Just wrap the expression in the REGEX() command, for example:
REGEX(\b[Aa]fter\W+(?:\w+\W+){1,6}daysb)
Typo?
should be days\b ; but then I also realized that adding the \ causes an emoticon to appear; I unchecked [ ] Enable emoticons, but emoticon still appeared in post.
Maybe it was not a typo, but rather a way to avoid the emoticon.

#44886 installing esword 13 on windows 11 over esword 12 did not work crash

I think ToolTipTool NT 20190819 was the last stable app for windows; it works on Win7.
The problem is that I cannot find it listed anywhere on the web. If someone knows where the older versions are stored?

#44953 transfer of mysword modules to e-sword
Posted by PeanutGallery on 29 August 2023 - 11:47 AM in e-Sword Modules / Resources
Use an earlier version; scroll down to "Previous Versions"; I also had problems with v 5.4.1; try v 5.2.
You also have download Net Framework

You need to download and install Simple Bible Reader 5.4 before installing 5.4.1
SBR v5.4 was not listed in the 'Previous Versions'; that is why I selected v 5.2 knowing that it worked.
