Thanks for this. I bought the paperback study bible a week ago and im so disapointed at the documentary hypothesis emphasis of it. I thought of all people the Jews would be the ones to refute such claims. It has however improved my knowledge of the documentary hypothesis and what parts the attribute to what authors(i.e elohimist, jehovahist, priestly etc). The tanak is a beautiful rendering of scripture though.

e-Sword says that the Jewish Encyclopedia TNK has information on many passages in the Old Testament but I have never been able to see any comment. Is there a secret to using this file? The file is listed on my hard drive as over 2 megs. I have downloaded it several times and it shows the "i" symbol in the Comments section of e-Sword.

It seem that this file doesn't have verse or chapter comments but only book comments. Click on the "B" button in the commentary section under any given book in the Old Testament too see comments.

Also, for those having trouble viewing the contents of this colorful resource try the following instructions. To begin, select a verse or word in the Bible Window. Next, select the Jewish Encyclopedia Tab in the Commentary Window. Then right click inside the open (white) space of the Jewish Encyclopedia Tab. to bring up the contextual menu, and select Display Book Comments. Or, click on the Display Book Comments Button on the Commentary Window Toolbar. BOOM! HalleluYAH!
