I thought I'd be clever and use the 'Add Verse(s)' feature within the Search function. The idea was to search on one string -- in this case "God..I will" and then another "Lord...I will" within the OT -- to get a complete list of verses telling me what God/the Lord (plus any other names He uses) says he will actually do/not do when the OT uses "I will" e.g. "I am the Lord.....My glory I will not give to another".
Rather than get two separate verse lists pasted into the editor, which i would then have to sort out manually (including elimination of duplicates e.g. "Lord God..I will"), I would get one pre-sorted list containing all the verses I was interested in (duplicates already taken care of).
So on the first search I pick up c. 300 verses (under "God") and on the second search I pick up c. 750 verses (under "Lord") adding these to the first. As eS nets these down for duplicates I end up with a list of c. 950 verses, which is what i want.
Now I go into Verse List, select the particular list of c. 950, copy and paste. Trouble is I end up with the 750 from the last search result, and not the full 950. Worse still I have to trawl through the duplicates, since eS didn't do that for me by ignoring the first search of 300 that I thought I had added to.
I've checked the Help file. I can't see what I'm doing wrong and can see no way of correcting this.
Anyone come across this before? Or any ideas?
Thanks
John

e-Sword 10.5 - Problem Opening/Accessing Topic (.topx) Files
17 November 2011 - 03:46 PM
Hi All
I'm new to this Forum. Have been using eS for a couple of years -- great piece if software -- and just upgraded to 10.5.
Problem is I can't open any Topic file either on my laptop (Win7) or my PC (XP). No .topx file options appear at the bottom of the pane. CTL+ Right/Left Click does nothing -- the pane is unresponsive and the Menu icons at the top are completely inactive.
Journal and Study panes/files are fine - as was the (personal) .topx file I was working on last night before I ended the program.
Problem started immediately after I moved the file location on my home network. I've tried ending/re-loading eS, repairing via Control Panel, uninstalling/re-installing the program, and re-booting -- but the problem remains. The new 'Reference' system works fine. It even brings up the .topx file that I had been working on and which I copied into that folder -- in case that was the problem.
I've worked in the IT industry so reasonably clued up and willing to try anything.
Anyone got any ideas?
Many thanks
John
