"error encountered opening Bible file: C:\Program Files\e-Sword\kjv.bblx"

I'm getting the above error message after upgrading to the lastest esword version. I get this even with
the embeded bibles that come with the program. Can anyone help me please.

I'm a user for many, many years but after three weeks of trying to fix it i'm about to jump ship.

PLEASE HELP.

Thanks,

JT

In Topic: Error messages launching new E-Sword version

28 September 2013 - 06:25 PM

Ever since downloading the newest upgrade from esword I've been getting this error message: "error encountered opening Bible file: C:\Program Files\e-Sword\kjv.bblx"

No one, including Rick Meyer's has been able to help me. I love esword and have used it for years but I am faced with having to ditch it because I can't get it fixed.

Any advice,

JT

Well since it first began I have installed & uninstalled. I assume the program has chosen where it will locate itself.
I have installed and uninstalled the latest version (which started this problem I thinks) and i have loaded a ver. 9 Esword.

I am running a 32bit win7.

How to I change the path to where it should be?

Thanks,

JT

Maybe you folks can help me. I tried to launch a new thread but could see a command button to do so on the home page.
I have sued Esword for years now with no issues Since I downlaoded the latest version 10 I've been getting a

"error encountered opening Bible file: C:\Program Files\e-Sword\kjv.bblx"

Even if I uninstall and go back to an older version or reinstall the lates version I get the same thing. Even if Esord eventually launches

it's just  the graphic shell with no active content. At this point I can't even use Esword.

I'm running Win. 7

Any help will be really appreciated.
