OH, EvaMon,

I forgot to say, do not give out your backup copy to others that can download the premium modules without paying for them.

In Topic: Transferring ESword to a new computer

Im new to this forum and want to buy TEW 2016. My reservation is that I plan to get a new computer in a couple months and have read that transferring the elicense to another computer can be a hassle. Has anyone here transferred to a new computer and was it a hassle? Thank you in advance.

Hi, EvaMon to answer your question, in reality, it is quite simple.

Go to your computer and left click on (C:)

After that, you should see a line-up, look for 'Program Files (x86)' Left click on it.

Again you will see a line-up of programs, look for the e-Sword folder, grab the folder with your mouse and drag the folder to a flash drive that is big enough to store all your programs on.

(I use a 32 GB flash drive for my back-ups)

This way you will have a copy of your e-Sword program.

Now you will need to download two other programs from the internet; the first one is http://www.e-sword.net/downloads.html .just save this e-Sword starter pack to your flash drive too.

Next, save the Module Installer from http://www.biblesupport.com/e-sword-downloads/file/6917-e-sword-module.

On your new computer download the 'starter module' as you did on your older computer.

Next, do the same for the module installer from your flash drive.

Now you are set to start filling up your e-Sword modules from the older computer.

When you click on the folder you downloaded from your older computer you should have one long list of modules showing up. Just double-click on each one and follow the instructions on each one.

If you have as many as I do on my e-Sword program it will take some time, but it is worth it.

The nice thing about doing it this way, all the modules you paid for will download without having to enter the Product Key. (If you update those programs you will need the product key then.)

I generally mess up my computer at least once a year and sometimes twice and this method has saved a lot of time and I've always got an e-Sword back-up handy when I do mess-up.

I do hope this helps you.
