In Topic: Is a Chichewa (Malawi) Bible available for an Android Device?

Raymond,

May God Bless you, THANKS!

It took me a while (I'm not very skilled with my Android), but I was able to get it into my tablet (Lenovo A1) so that I could read it in MySword.  (Well, I could read it if I could read Chichewa  :) but it works!)

God's Blessings on you,

-Pete

God's Blessings Braunllaw,

I really appreciate the suggestion.   I googled Chachi and found that is is a language from Equador, so it is not the same thing as Chichewa, but good thought anyway.  I have YouVersion on my own tablet.

Your suggestion prompted me to google Chichewa and found the following in Wikipedia.  This gives me some other names of the language for which to look.  I was surprised that the language covered more terratory than I had originally thought.

Wikipedia:

"Chewa, also known as Nyanja, is a language of the Bantu language family. The gender prefix chi- is used for languages,[3] so the language is also known as Chichewa and Chinyanja (spelled Cinyanja in Zambia), and locally Nyasa in Mozambique.

Chewa is the national language of Malawi. It is also one of the seven official African languages of Zambia, where it is spoken mostly in the Eastern Province. It is also spoken in Mozambique, especially in the provinces of Tete and Niassa, as well as in Zimbabwe where, according to some estimates, it ranks as the third-most widely used local language, after Shona and Northern Ndebele."

Thanks,

-Pete
