In Topic: How To Save Study/Journal/Topic notes

22 April 2019 - 04:24 PM

With the current versions of of e-Sword (after version 11 I think) you have the option of saving your resources to a cloud account. Go to the Options menu and select Resource... At the bottom of the pop up window you will see where you can set your resource and user files locations. Click the folder icon and navigate to your cloud folder and select it. Oh, and remember to copy all your resources and user files to your cloud folders first.

I use this feature all the time. I take notes during the sermon on my Microsoft Surface then when I am home I can see them on my desktop. I may prepare a lesson or Bible study at home and then access it on my Surface when I am at church.

I haven't tried this yet, but I think if you convert your study notes and other resources to the topi or noti format you should be able to read them in both your Apple product and your Windows desktop.

Ctepa,

Are you referring to downloading from within the download window in e-Sword? If so, click on the desired Bible translation that you want. You will see it appear in the white area at the bottom of the window. You may select another translation if you wish. Then at the top of the window you have two menu options, File and Download. Click the Download menu and select Start. Your Bible(s) will download and install. You will have to restart e-Sword in order to see them appear in the Bible window of e-Sword. If you select a Premium Bible you will be asked to provide a Product Key which you can get by clicking on the Purchase From eStudySource button and following the purchasing instructions that will appear in your browser. Then return to this window in e-Sword and enter your product key and click Validate. I don't remember for sure what happens next, but I think it will be the same. The Bible will appear in the white area at the bottom of the Downloader window and you will click the Download menu and then the Start option.

What Kartoog and Tj Higgins were referring to is how to download Bibles and other files from this site. That is a different process as they have described.

Katoog,

Despite my doubts and misunderstanding I followed your suggestion of upgrading to 11.2.2 and then using the e-Sword PC to Apple Converter to convert my MLV2019.bblx to MLV2019.bbli. This fixed my problem when using the Extended Bible search. I apologize for doubting you. Thank you for your help.

I am looking for a better or perhaps, more understandable answer and solution to my question.

As I understand it, BBLI files are for Apple products such as the IPad and IPod. BBLX files are for Windows operating systems. I am using a computer with the WIndows operating system. However, I did try downloading the latest version of the MLV (the translation where I am seeing the most codes) and installed it. It is a BBLX file. I still have the same results in the Extended Search window where I see lots of codes. I am also running e-Sword 11.1.0. I have been afraid to upgrade to 11.2.2 because of all the issues I have seen in the forums.

Any other ideas?
