TRYCOCOON.COM designed Cocoon to protect your computer and your privacy when you are browsing the Internet. The company tries to shield your computer from the bad guys, and to protect your identity from prying eyes. However, that, and IOBit suite, probably are the culprits, which do not allow downloads from either https://e-sword.net or from BibleSupport.com to access your computer. They probably do not allowed Microsoft access to update your PC for the necessary daily security updates either.
Suggestion: disable Cocoon and also IOBit suite. Then connect to the internet, and use the option, Start, Settings, Update, and allow the Windows updates to occur. Repeat this at least three times in succession, after all previous updates have installed. Be prepared to have to "baby" your PC for many hours - there are extensive updates for the 20H2 update of Windows 10 Pro, which is applicable between October 2020 and March 2021. If your version of e-Sword is 12.2.0, try to download new entries using the e-Sword Download options. Also try to download an entry from Bible Support, including e-Sword Module Installer (and after download, run this to install it and to link the file types to the module installer). If these then work, then consult the documentation of Cocoon and IObit, to enable access through the firewall to https://e-sword.net and to http://biblesupport.com if you want to re-install those security options. Alternatively allow Microsoft to take over security operations.
Sincerely, Olaf Bacon.

Thank you, Olaf! It's working now!  :D

Lillian1961, another option to try - see if your browser needs to be updated. You have not told us which version of the PC UPDATE you last installed, or which Version of the BROWSER Update you are using. Or whether you are using some third party virus checking or firewall, and when last you updated that.

The browser I am using is Cocoon (a variant of Chrome that pays me a few pennies for surfing the Web). It is version 71.0.3578.80 (Official Build) (64-bit). But I am not running E-Sword online but rather offline.

My antivirus is part of the IoBit suite - version 14, the free version. I update this database whenever they have an update available.

And  here is my operating system information:

OS Name        Microsoft Windows 10 Pro
OS Version     10.0.18363

After you select the commentary you want to download and it is in the lower pane, go to the menu at the top of the download window and click Download, this will open a small menu where you will see the options start and stop click start to start the download process

When I do that, Start is grayed out. Only Stop is available, but no downloading is happening. Nothing is happening

When I go into E-Sword, I click on Download - Commentaries. I select a file and click on the blue text. It goes into the lower pane f the download window, but it never begins a download. The progress bar at the bottom never moves, never even starts.Absolutely nothing happens at this point.
