#46205 Cannot Download Anything

Posted by JPG on 22 April 2024 - 10:58 PM

What Browser are you using?

It could have recently been updated to not play well with insecure (not https) connected sites such as http://www.biblesupport.com

I am using chrome, and always have to go to the download icon and select "Keep" for that download.

Android Bibles that end with the extension .bbli will work with e-Sword PC version. No conversion needed.

#46100 Searching by highlight color

When you make your highlight, why not save that verse to an appropriate verse list? Then you will be able to see them all in one place, and in the appropriate category.

#45882 Android Bible Memory - How to Remove a verse?

Posted by JPG on 08 February 2024 - 09:57 AM

Hello,

I was playing with the Bible memory feature on the Android app and was wondering how I can remove some verses from that section?

I only see how to add or study them, not how to remove ones you don't want in there.

Thanks

Go back to the side menu -> Memory Verses

This shows you your memory verses. Tap on the one you want to remove, then tap the bin icon top right.

#45839 John Gill top.exe for eSword 8 only?

Posted by JPG on 25 January 2024 - 04:54 AM

I had installed John Gill's Body of Practical and Doctrinal Divinity, all volumes, in previous versions of e-Sword, but in e-Sword version 13, it doesn't seem to want to install.

Is there any way around this? I've downloaded the module installer, which works with most everything, including some old e-Sword 8 modules, but the John Gill top.exe (and that's all I can find) doesn't open module installer and even though the exe. file is installed to the proper e-Sword file, it simply doesn't show in anything, including reference library.

Any help will be appreciated. Thank you.

It is a .top file so that does not show in version 13 without conversion to a .topx format.

Easy to do from within e-Sword

In the Topic Notes tab, hold down the Ctrl key, and right-mouse-click in the view, which should bring up a context menu. Select Open, then in the next window where it is asking you to select a file, first change the extension filter from .topx to .top using the dropdown gadget at bottom right. Now your .top files should show up. Select your file and it will be converted.

Simplest way is to contact the developer using the contact form he provides on his site. Contact Rick Meyers about e-Sword for PC

#45106 Paleo Hebrew

Posted by JPG on 26 September 2023 - 05:00 AM

First problem is that there appear to be two (or more) fonts. One called Paleo-Hebrew and the better one called Paleo Hebrew, and it downloads as Paleo Hebrew Regular.ttf

Problem is that this is not a valid Unicode font. The maker has, as it were, simply drawn these Paleo-Hebrew glyphs in place of Latin hwhy. Of course these are typed in left-to-right in this font.

So no font setting in e-Sword will work to solve this. ToolTipToolNT does not have the ability to hard-code the font, without the use of a macro, and due to the death of Brent Hildebrand, I don't know of anyone else that can write the macro, so it has to be done the long way.

Make your Bible as a .bbli Module(4) which is html format.

Where you want to show your Paleo Hebrew font, I suggest you put these markers [P]and[p] as per this example(Capital P and small p are used)

÷Gen 1:1 This is a test using Paleo Hebrew font Paleo Hebrew Regular.ttf not the PALEO.TTF [P]hwhy[p]

Build the module

Close T4

Open the .bbli file in "DB Browser for SQLite"

Click on the Execute SQL tab

Paste in this code

update Bible set Scripture = replace(Scripture,'[P]', '<font face="Paleo Hebrew">') where Scripture like '%[P]%';
update Bible set Scripture = replace(Scripture,'[p]', '</font>') where Scripture like '%[p]%';

Click on Execute SQL

Click on Write Changes

Click on Close Database

All should be fixed to hard coded tags for the Paleo Hebrew font

Ah nice. When is a phone not a phone?.... when it is flipped into a "tablet".

I think this Harmony feature is not built into the phone versions only tablet versions.

#44773 NASB + markings - how to copy the footnotes to the editor

Posted by JPG on 28 July 2023 - 02:01 AM

Is there a way to copy the contents of the NASB+ markings (R1, N1, etc) to the editor notes?

While the note is popped up, simply press and release the function key F4, and the content of the popup will be copied. Now you can paste it to your notes.
