In Topic: Installing updated resources

DSaw here are the notes from our Chat Session. I now have access to my installed resource modules. Thanks for your help!

I have e-Sword 10.0.7 and I've downloaded Resourcer in an effort to try and solve my resource problem. I have no Topic Notes. That is, I have no box at the bottom of my Topic Note pane with the popup list of Topic Notes. I've downloaded several Topic Note modules but they are not being seen by e-Sword 10. My system is a Windows XP system. Can anyone advise me on how to correct his problem?

Hello James,

If you're using e-Sword 10, use the Reference Library (Tools > Reference Library) to view topic books.

Ok I used the Reference Library (Tools > Reference Library) to view topic books and that worked. So, is the Topic Note Pane not used in version 10?

Also In trying to use the Resourcer to solve his problem I created a test Workspace and now when I run e-Sword my Commentary & Dictionary panes are empty. How do I deactivate the workspace?

To reset the workspace:

close e-Sword
open Resourcer

In left pane click on all e-Sword modules
it will remain highlight then
click on workspace at top of window then activate then click on activate all modules
then open e-Sword to get you Commentaries & Dictionaries Pane contents back.

James:  OK I Closed e-Sword and Opened Reourcer and Activated All Modules. Now I have my commentary & Dictionary Pane Contents back again. How do I view my Topic resources that I’ve installed?
DSaw:  Where are your .TOPX files located?
James:  C:\Documents and Settings\Jim Cook\My Documents\e-Sword\ contains a file called “topic.topx”. All my .topx files are located in C:\Program Files\e-Sword.   For example “The Life and Times of Jesus the Messiah.topx” is located there along with all the others I‘ve installed.
DSaw:  To view your Resource Topic Modules (.topx files) find the “BOOKS ICON” on the far right in the Tool Bar and click it.
James:  I clicked the ICON on the Right and opened The Resource Panel with which shows my installed modules that I’ve been trying to find. I thought they were supposed to be opened in the Topic Notes Panel with a Popup List of Topics. I saw this in a Youtube Video.
DSaw:  They are accessed in version 10 in The Reference Library Panel. The Youtube video is out of date. The Topic Notes panel is for topic files in the doc e-Sword folder
James:  Ok thanks for your help!

I'm trying to get the Topic Notes to work. I don't have the box at the bottom of the Topic Note Window with a popup lisy of installed Topics. I've downloaded several Topic Resources. I've installed the e-Sword Module and used it but still have no box at the bottom of the Topic Installer with a popup list of installed Topics. Can anyone offer a solution to this problem? Thanks Jim Cook
