#17852 Thanks so much, E-sword!

Posted by Tony Stark on 18 July 2013 - 04:13 AM in Just Saying Hi

So I'm writing a commentary on Galatians (which Josh Bond will be formatting and uploading relatively soon). I have to say that commentary writing at least for me would be MUCH harder without E-sword and a few VERY good modules that one of you has uploaded. In fact, E-sword's helpfulness is the second reason I am going to give all my commentaries away for FREE! (The first reason is that I am just nice like that). You can find some information about my upcoming book here: http://bphall844.wix.com/starkslibrary Thanks to all of you who have contributed to E-sword!

Yours faithfully, TONY STARK

#17855 Copyright on Greek Bibles

Posted by Tony Stark on 18 July 2013 - 04:42 AM in Copyright & Licensing

Mr. Pellerin, I am with you in that Bibles should not be copyrighted (just like the KJV). They didn't write those words! Those should all be copyrighted to Paul (for example) because a work is copyright as soon as one writes it!

#17858 Citing legal?

Posted by Tony Stark on 18 July 2013 - 04:46 AM in Copyright & Licensing

It seems to me that citing the E-sword or other electronic version would be no different from citing the printed version--provided that the two are identical. However, on your automatic bibliography maker or whatever, you should definitely note which medium you used. For example, I am using Mark Driscoll's sermon transcripts instead of the audio version, and in Word's bibliography maker I note that I am using a PDF, and note which page I am citing and so on, and so on.

#17868 Thanks so much, E-sword!

Yup! That's correct! Thanks so much for catching that, Roy :D. I guess this proves that I'm new to not ending sentences with periods hahaha.

#17896 New Testament in MOdern Greek

Posted by Tony Stark on 20 July 2013 - 05:38 AM in e-Sword Modules / Resources

Hey Mr. Neal,

I found quite a few:

http://www.ccel.org/ccel/bible/gkmod

http://www.christian...571300/pd/71301

http://www.greeksfor...t.org/gnt-7.htm

http://www.greeksfor...t.org/gnt-3.htm

http://www.greeksfor...t.org/gnt-4.htm

http://biblemax-vamv...e.informer.com/

http://www.htmlbible...om/moderngreek/

Take your pick!

It will probably have the Koine Greek on one page and the Modern Greek on the opposite page or something to that effect (I haven't actually read it yet).

#17898 Macro request...

Posted by Tony Stark on 20 July 2013 - 05:44 AM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

It would still be a bit of work, but if is a Word document that you are working with (you can convert it if it isn't) then go to the "Home" tab, then find the "Replace" button, and set it to replace "f's" with "s's" and then just skip the words that have "f's" when they are supposed to :D. Tell me if this works please :D.

#17899 Need Your Help

P.R.E.Z.,

Are you writing a book or a paper or something? May I edit it please :D? (If it's not already published or submitted).

#17900 Just wanted to say thanks

E-Sword is awesome! Most of the commentaries are a bit dated--but Josh and I are going to try to change that a bit!

#17901 Hello

Posted by Tony Stark on 20 July 2013 - 06:14 AM in Just Saying Hi

Heaven,

You mentioned that you were "able though to use my eSword Bible still and I type out a lot of studies and some times commentaries." I think that you are saying that you are writing commentaries. Would you like to tell me a bit more about that? I'm also doing that, so I'm curious :D.

#17926 I Might Could Use Your Help

Posted by Tony Stark on 21 July 2013 - 07:26 AM in Just Saying Hi

Hey everyone! Well I coudn't load this sample on my website unfortunately, but your mission--should you chose to accept--is to review this sample of my commentary on Galatians: (see attachment below) and tell me what you think! I would appreciate any suggestions on how to improve my commentary and my commentary series. I would also GREATLY appreciate it if one of you scholars volunteered to double check all the Greek. Thanks in advance!

Yours faithfully, Tony Stark

Mr. Bond,

Actually, a 17 year old didn't write this! I was 16 at the time! Hahahaha :D.

Baunllaw,

I will take a look at your sample shortly! It's good to meet another scholar such as myself!

#18219 typo errors in commentaries

English errors bother you too? I'm sure whoever uploads future commentaries (myself included!) would love for you to check for mistakes before we upload :D!
