#28588 Updated New Heart English Bible

Posted by Jeff D. Huddleston on 14 August 2016 - 06:38 PM in e-Sword Modules / Resources

This is the updated New Heart English Bible, 2016. There have been many changes since the first NHEB, and I believe for the better. This translation follows the Nestle-Aland 28th Edition Greek New Testament. Of all the modern public domain translations, this may be the best.

"This program imports text file and makes the file compatible with Microsoft Access. It was developed to help in the creation of Bible Modules for the e-Sword program." - Biblos 1.2.1 (Information)

"I have used this program exclusively to make both my e-Sword Bible modules and Dictionary modules. Hands down, I believe it is the simplest and quickest way to make e-Sword Bible and Dictionary modules. The only downside is that you still have to convert the modules to the current e-Sword format using a conversion tool like eSword9Converter. With that said, it is still faster than any of the other tools I have tried. Make sure you 'Extract All' after you download the program in order for it to work properly." - Jeff D. Huddleston

#26771 Bibles - American Standard Version-2nd Edition

This is basically the New Testament portion of the forthcoming final edition of the Disciple's Bible (http://www.biblesupp...isciples-bible/). This version follows the Nestle-Aland Novum Testamentum Graece (28th Edition, NA28). Other than additional formatting and a few "tweaks" this is the final NT text. However, please feel free to read through it and offer suggestions.

#26754 "Yahweh" or "The LORD"?

Posted by Jeff D. Huddleston on 09 January 2016 - 09:33 AM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

Andonai JHVH is usually translated "Lord GOD," and if I use Yahweh it is "Lord Yahweh." I understand that no matter what I do there will be groups who reject it. I could simply transliterate it as YHVH...but that would likely draw objections too.

I'm not sure how to fix the open tags problem...I know just enough to put the modules together the way I have them now. When I put text in bold type it is like this:

John 1:23 He said, I am {\b the voice of one crying in the wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord,} as said Isaiah the prophet.

I'll try what you suggested with the Tooltip Tool. Thanks.

#26751 Does anyone else use YouVersion

I use it, and for the same reasons you do. The e-Sword app is better for study on the go, but YouVersion is good.

#26748 eSword Dumper

Posted by Jeff D. Huddleston on 09 January 2016 - 05:39 AM in e-Sword Modules / Resources

Does anyone know how I can convert my e-Sword modules (9 and up) back to editable text? My computer crashed and I lost many of my original texts that I used to make the modules. Some of my modules have a few defects and I'd love to fix them, but I don't want to have to start from scratch again (I'm a fulltime+ student (16 hours) and part time carpenter so I just don't have the time). I know there is a module dumper for e-Sword 8 but I don't know about 9 and up, or if I can convert modules back to 8 and then dump them. Thanks.

#26746 "Yahweh" or "The LORD"?

Posted by Jeff D. Huddleston on 09 January 2016 - 04:40 AM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

I am working on the final draft of the Disciple's Bible (http://www.biblesupp...isciples-bible/)...I'm just curious. Would you rather have "Yahweh" or "The LORD" throughout the Old Testament? Or perhaps a mixture like the Holman Christian Standard Bible does? Any input would be greatly appreciated.
