#46316 Trouble opening downloaded modules

Posted by Katoog on 01 June 2024 - 01:47 AM in New e-Sword Downloads

Only exe files need to install.

zip files need to open with explorer or a program as 7-zip. and be unziped to the e-Sword map

The default map for normal modules is:

for the 64bit version of Windows

C:\Program Files (x86)\e-Sword

or for the 32bit version of Windows

C:\Program Files\e-Sword

By exe files trouble read this:

https://www.makeuseo...-files-windows/

It is easier to answer questions if you give more information.

Which modules? Is it a zip or an exe or a normal module extension?

The e-Sword edition and the OS edition that you use?

Posted by Katoog on 29 May 2024 - 02:46 AM in e-Sword Modules / Resources

It is the third Gómez edition: so the 2014 edition that you can download within e-Sword since 17/06/2016 .

Now what are some of the differences between the 2004 , 2010 and 2014.

Based on two verses.

Exo 12:5
(RVG2004) El cordero será sin defecto
(RVG2010) Vuestro cordero será sin defecto
(RVG2014) Vuestro cordero será sin defecto

Joh 6:63 (Joan)
(RVG2010) las palabras que yo os he hablado son espíritu
(RVG2014) las palabras que yo os hablo son espíritu

#46283 Newbie Question

Posted by Katoog on 25 May 2024 - 03:55 AM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

The commentary is connected with the Bible verse that you used just before you close the program.

If e-Sword have trouble to remember the Bible last verse that you used we you open e-Sword again then is it because he did not save it.

Click on help in the program and "Reset e-Sword settings to fix it.

#46275 e-Sword LT (update issues-Version 12.3.1) "Notes" data un-readable.

Posted by Katoog on 23 May 2024 - 07:24 AM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

Try to change the file name: I got the same kind of message in another Bible program because of the special characters.

In my case was it the x in superscript that was the problem: so I used a normal x in the filename to solve it.

#46255 Bibles missing verses

Posted by Katoog on 13 May 2024 - 07:26 PM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

The reason why it is omitted is the age of Saul and the number of years that he rules OR the words were added after it.

This problem is very old because the verse was already omitted in some versions of the LXX.

So a problem of misunderstanding or text corruption. Some translations using other numbers or even use __ because they have no solution for the problem.

I found a solution for the age and years problem.

1Sa 13:1  Saul reigned one year; and when he had reigned two years over Israel, (KJV)

1Sa 13:1  reigned one year: Heb. the son of one year in his reigning (KJV footnote)

The Hebrew idiom "son of a year" is not in English but means year of origin or first year.

1Sa 13:1  It was a year since Saul began to reign and he had reigned in the second year over Israel, (my translation: the RHB)

In the first year was Saul called a king but it takes a year before he was recognized as king over whole Israel.

#46226 How do I get esword android to open a module I downloaded.

Posted by Katoog on 01 May 2024 - 06:24 PM in e-Sword Modules / Resources

Android modules are the same as Apple modules and have a file extension that end with "i" not "x".

If you have an file extension that end with "x" then need you to convert it to an Apple module.

It is easier to help if I knew which module you downloaded.

#46214 Difficulties with Scrolling Using the Up/Down Arrows

Posted by Katoog on 28 April 2024 - 03:37 AM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

Depending what computer you have can you use a mouse-wheel or touch pad that you stroke with two fingers.

You can also try by windows setting / Accessibility but I don't know the version you have of Windows.

Another way is using the vertical scrollbar with your right hand on the touch pad while with the left hand keep pressing the touch pad.

No, they are copyrighted Bibles: (so they made the restrictions) and are Premium Bibles that you can download within the e-Sword program.

Is there any way to fix this, where I can have the full complete names of each bible and them show up in the compare function that way without the kjv kjv+ also showing up?

Yes, you can make a copy of kjv and kjv+ and rename the copies while uncheck the originals in Bible -> Bible Compare Settings

#46081 how to deleat

Posted by Katoog on 20 March 2024 - 11:43 PM in MySword

Use DB Browser for SQLite: click file open database and select *. all files.

Go to the table tab. the verse notes are in the same table or another table as the Bible verse.

edit and exit and save.

And take your time for editing your own verse notes so that you not need to upload thrice in a week for only 3 changes each.
