#44703 Option to Remove Hebrews from Pauline Epistles Search

Posted by PeanutGallery on 15 July 2023 - 07:11 AM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

...

Below shows exactly why it can't be done...

First step was to select:
Search: Paul's letters (Rom -- Hebrews)

That would eliminate the need to search for Romans in the Range:

Second step was to cut out Hebrews from Paul's list, without having to search for Philemon:
Range: Select Philemon

Results: will not include Hebrews
..........
As for the image; I have not been able to duplicate the original image, so I have no idea why 'Paul's letters (Rom -- Hebrews)' remained visible after I selected Philemon.

#44628 Where are underlines stored.

Posted by PeanutGallery on 22 June 2023 - 06:20 PM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

Yep.

Not only that, so too are Highlights stored in the same file. That said, you can also create new markup files and give them a unique filename (pretty much the same way one can with topic, study, and journal Note files).

Thanks, that means underline will move around depending on whether Pericope is toggled on/off.

Are underlines used in e-Sword kept in markup.ovlx or another db?

#44584 can search results be docked?

Posted by PeanutGallery on 17 June 2023 - 04:03 PM in e-Sword Questions & Answers

Now, I'm sort of getting a bit confused.

So what do you guys mean by "dock" when it comes to the search results or whatever?

From a Programmer's perspective, something which is docked, is like the different windows you see in the main e-Sword interface, of which it cannot be moved, minimized, maximized, or resized. That is Docked.

So, a bit of clarification might just help me in understanding what you guys are talking about.

I assumed that OP's 'dock' meant Search tab was accessible while browsing in the Bible tab, or switching between Search tab and Bible tab; thus, my response.

Olaf Bacon provides a method of 'dock' by accessing a permanent list of verses which is accessible while browsing the Bible, Compare or Parallel tabs.

The search results can be resized and moved, and temporarily collapsed by clicking on the triangle at the top right hand corner just left of the red X
