Gerald B. Stanton’s work has been a favorite of a number of leading men in the field of prophecy. Noted Bible scholar and Left Behind author Tim LaHaye has said he has worn out three copies of Kept From the Hour. Stanton has also been praised in several Christian publications. Moody Monthly said that his book on the rapture stands as one of “the most important defense[s] of the pretribulation view point.”

PREFACE
KEPT FROM THE HOUR has been written with a sense of mission, with a firm conviction that what it contains has long needed to be said. In the midst of present world unrest and the deepening shadows of a dying age, Christians everywhere are wondering if the Tribulation lies dead ahead. They are demanding an authoritative answer to a solemn question: "Will the Rapture oof the Church precede the Tribulation? Will the believer in Christ be kept from this hour of trial?" To this inquiry, this book responds with a hearty affirmative. It purposes to set at rest the minds of God's people, giving the assurance that before a trumpet of judgment is blown or a vial of wrath is pured out, the true Church will by glorious rapture experience enter the presence of her Lord.
No mere detail of prophecy is this, but a vital and determining theme involving an amazingly large segment of the Word of God. There has long been a need for a complete, scholarly and thoroughly Biblical defense of the pretribulation return of Christ. Many have been the friends of this doctrine and wide is its literature, but most have written too briefly to face all the problems involved, while some have been too superficial to be convincing. Yet here and there, real contributions a have been made, and such voices have a right to be heard. For that reason the followng pages include many quotations from those who, in the mind of the writer, have something definite to contribute.
Opponents of pretribulationalism have also been quoted that they might be represented with accuracy. Careful documentation has been followed throughout to assist those interested in source material. However, emphasis her is not upon the personality involved, but upon the doctrine and the evidence upon which it stands. Since such evidence is cululative, let any who may differ with these pages first consider their whole tersimony. Let none forget how much we hold in common in the conservative, premillenial faith. If we discuss these issues with due restraint and with Christian charity, then we shall see how much we can learn together.

Words For Christ’s Coming, in the sentence "Part of the problem of arriving at a conclusion as to the time of the coming of Christ for His satins has been that some authors have used ill-defined terms, or have confused issues by treating dissimilar terms as interchangeable.", change the word "satins" to "saints". The text of the Bible that is basically used, is the Textus Receptus as found in the English translation from Hebrew and Greek, and published in the King James Version (1611, 1769).
This study is not based on the United Bible Societies versions of the Holy Bible, which were modified by deleting words, phrases, and verses, due to the effect of the Nestle and Aland version of the Greek New Testament, which deletes words missing from the Vaticanus Greek Septuagint and NT manuscript, or from the Sinaiticus Greek OT and NT manuscript.
