Apostolic Bible Polyglot Strong's Dictonary Extension

The Apostolic Bible Polyglot was originally published in 2003, is a Bible translation by Charles VanderPool.

The ABP is an English translation with a Greek interlinear gloss and is keyed to a concordance. The numbering system, called "AB-Strong's", is a modified version of Strong's concordance, which was designed only to handle the traditional Hebrew Masoretic Text of the Old Testament, and the Greek text of the New Testament. Strong's concordance doesn't have numbering for the Greek O.T. The ABP utilizes a Greek Septuagint base for the O.T. and, therefore, required a modified system. The numbers and the Greek word appear immediately above the English translation instead of side by side, as is common in many interlinears.

The Apostolic Bible Polyglot also contains The Lexical Concordance of the ABP, The English Greek Index of the ABP, and The Analytical Lexicon of the ABP. Despite utilizing a Septuagint textual basis for the Old Testament, it does not include the deuterocanonical books that are found in the Septuagint.

This Strong's extension module was originally created for MySword users to use with the MySword version of the ABP. In creating The APB Charles Vanderpool created an additional 3751 Strong's numbers for the additional Greek words not already in Strong's concordance. Charles Vanderpool created a numbering system using decimal points to add digits after the standard Strong's numbers to create his new Strong's numbers. An Example of these new numbers are 10.1, 10.2, 10.3 etc. The highest of these numbers being G5624.1, as these numbers are not standard Strong's numbers they do not appear in any edition of Strong's Concordance.

This module has been created for e-Sword from the above mentioned MySword module and it will work with the ABP with Strong's bible module. This module does not contain the full set of Strong's Greek numbers which are found in Strong's Dictionary modules. Also the extended Strong's numbers with the decimal numbers do not work as popups as e-Sword does not recognize Charles Vanderpool's numbering system. So to use this module with the ABP Bible module you will need to click the Vanderpool number in order for the entry to appear in the e-Sword Dictionary window.
