Yup, I checked it out, it seems every other time the ERV uses the name of Jesus, the KJV uses the word "He".
So that's no mystery

If you have not filed a technical report to the developer, perhaps now would be a good time. On the main Help menu of e-Sword there is an item "Technical support"

Have you tried different Bible translations to see if you can get any results with those?

I get similar results for all translations, that is to say, only REGEX search gives any results.

"Jesus" REGEX NT returns 936 results.

"Jesus" ALL words NT gives me 0 results

"Jesus" ANY words NT gives me 0 results

Try something different then. Search just the book of Genesis in the KJV+ Bible. Use Regular Expressions (REGEX) and in the search field just put a dollar sign $ and do a search.

Sounds like you're onto something.

I found 1533 matches.

First time I got any results, what does that mean?

What options do you have set (press the gear icon) do you have case sensitive on?

Case sensitive is not on, neither is "partial match".
And the search ranges from Genesis to Revelation.

But still no luck :/

Here is how it works, If all else fails, read the manual. If you read the manual you cannot fail.

Here are some thoughts.

• The word you're looking for may not be in that particular translation.
• Your search criteria may not be set to the kind of search you want to do
• For what you are looking for may not be found in that particular Book or Bible.

I trust this helps you.

As a matter of interest, I run e-Sword on Windows XP, and I have no issues with the search. So it may be you're actually not doing something fort the search to turn up a result.

Unfortunately this has not helped me. I'm certain the words I'm looking for are in these translations and I've tried searching for common words like "Jesus" in the whole Bible, but nothing has turned up.

I haven't got a clue what is causing this. I'm wondering if I should try to reinstall the program and see if it helps.

Does anybody know if I lose my journal, study and topic notes if I reinstall?

I'm not using Linux so I guess this is not something I can do.

btw. none of the searches work, that is, not the Bible, dictionary, commentary nor topics' searches

I just started using e-Sword.

I have a problem with the search. Whenever I try to search for any words I get no results. Even if I search for common words like "Jesus".

Anybody know how to fix this?

I googled it and somebody else apparantly had the same problem so I guess somebody has heard about it before...
