#13062 Converting OliveTree notes to eSword Module

Posted by Ken Sturgeon on 13 October 2012 - 12:41 PM in e-Sword Modules / Resources

For any that have read my previous post. I've learned that the OliveTree Bible Reader exports your notes and highlights in an xml format, OTML. I believe that I'll be able to convert the xml into a commentary file using regular expressions. At this point I do not fully understand the OTML format but I can see that pulling the notes should be simple enough; what I haven't figured out is the highlighting.

#13061 Combining all notes into a single rtf file.

Posted by Ken Sturgeon on 13 October 2012 - 12:38 PM in e-Sword Tools & Utilities

Thanks Patch, I downloaded the tool and it is very cool. A fantastic tool for topics, commentaries, bibles, devotionals and such. What I was hoping to do was to extract all of my study notes out of the underlying sqllite database. It appears to store the notes in a record that has:

Book Number
Chapter Number
Verse Number
Notes Text

Every not appears to be stored as an rtf file. I would like to export or print all of my notes as a single unit, not one file or document for each note.

If I can't find a way to do this I may have to turn my notes into a commentary but then I'd loose the ability to modify them within eSword (I think).

Thanks again for your help.

#13054 Combining all notes into a single rtf file.

Posted by Ken Sturgeon on 13 October 2012 - 07:09 AM in e-Sword Tools & Utilities

Using a database browser and looking into an eSword notes file I see that every note I make is actually stored as a separate rtf file. Is there a way I can extract all of my notes into a single rtf file while maintaining the verse references? I'd like to export or print out all of my personal notes at once.

Thanks,

#13053 Converting OliveTree notes to eSword Module

Posted by Ken Sturgeon on 13 October 2012 - 07:05 AM in e-Sword Modules / Resources

I have been using OliveTree bible reader on my iPad and have several notes that I had hoped to export and subsequently import them into eSword. OliveTree allows you to export all of your notes to their site where you can then download them in the form of an xml file. Are there any utilities that would help me reformat the xml into a format that I can read in eSword?

Thanks for your help.
