Thayer’s Unabridged Greek – English Lexicon of the New Testament 1.0
As submitted to biblesupport.com by DSaw Jul 09 2015 and last updated Jun 01 2022. The following download options are provided: [1] Thayer's Unabridged.dctx (10.68MB), [2] thayer39s_unabridged.lexi (20.39MB), [3] Thayers Unabridged.exe (1.89).
Caution: During transmission the filename of option [1] will download as Thayer's Unabridged.dctx – You can correct the spelling of the filename before you process it further.
Option [2] will download as thayer39s_unabridged.lexi – You can correct the spelling of the filename before you process it further.
Option [3] is a “exe” type file, and may be blocked by your system, so select the “save as” option and change the filename by adding “.docx” at the end of the filename extension.
View the Properties of all downloaded files. If the General option has the Security warning, “Security: This file came from another computer and might be blocked to help protect this computer.” Then notice that there is an open check box alongside the word Unblock, and there are three button options, OK, Cancel, and the Apply option is greyed out. Proceed by selecting the open check box, which will change to have a tick inside it. Now the “Apply” button will become accessible. Select “Apply”, and you will notice that the date the file was accessed will be updated. Select “OK”.
Option [3] Now change the filename back by removing the “.docx” at the end of the file. This is a setup wizard to install “Thayer’s Unabridged” on your computer. This will install “Thayer’s Unabridged.dctx". This file was modified 2015-07-18. Notice the date is before 2016, so it would have been coded using RTF codes.
Only download the entry that you want to download. OPTION [2] can be loaded to the Mac, iPad, iPhone and Android devices, running their own version of e-Sword. It will also load to the PC running e-Sword versions 11 or later.
All three options will produce the same Dictionary Tab name in e-Sword for the PC. Only in March 2015 was e-Sword X for the Mac released. For Apple devices, all files were re-programmed for HTML-based resources, for which the e-Sword modules are indicated with file name extensions with the fourth letter “i”. In January 2022 e-Sword for Android was released. Details from the developer’s website – Link here.
Since April 2009, with e-Sword version 9.0 all e-Sword modules for the PC used SQLite database, and were programmed in RTF code, with the e-Sword file name extension having the fourth letter “x”.
In July 2016 e-Sword version 11 for the PC was released, and new features included being able to process HTML-based resources. A new Lexicon type was also introduced. Details from Rick Meyers’s website: link here.
