Ah! I finally found it too! The partial search menu had disappeared, and I didn't know why.
But I did find it button that causes the extra menu to appear. It is the little gear icon between the third and fourth dropdown. Mouseover causes a flag to pop out: "Additional search options."

I am glad to hear there is hope! Could you share for those of us who are still looking? I KNEW I shouldn't have "upgraded," but an unrelated computer issue caused me to go ahead and download and install. I REALLY miss the partial word search option!
