Bible characters, sermons, 40 days
Walter Thomas Prideaux Wolston was born on 6 September 1840 in Brixham (county of Devonshire in England) was born. As he himself said, the first twenty years of his life he was interested only in the things of the world. There was a serious concern to his mother that he would accept the Lord Jesus as Lord and Savior. After abandoning a career in law, he became a medical doctor.
His personality was marked by exceptional talent and great mercy, so he was widely recognized as a capable and benevolent Christian doctor. He always found time in his large, busy practice to teach the good news of salvation in Christ. In his spare time, he preached the Gospel in specially rented halls. He had a special aura to young people and was therefore frequently lectures on spiritual topics to students in Edinburgh.
Wolston edited the magazine, "God's Glad Tidings" (God's good news) - later under the title "The Gospel Messenger". He also wrote many smaller Gospel booklets. Some of his many lectures were later published in book form. His gripping style of his speeches, his knowledge of the Scriptures, and his love of truth generally shine through his published works.
About The 40 Days of Scripture
This book focuses on the repetition of the number "40" in the Bible. The chapters collectively make a great book because they do not read as sermons sometimes do--they read as an actual book, not as a collection of sermons.
The chapters which form the first half of this volume (except Chapter 8) were delivered as sermons to mixed audiences of unbelievers and believers in the Lord Jesus Christ. The chapters in the second half of the book were delivered to to believers only.
