Spyros Filos Modern (Demotic) Greek Bible (1994)

A translation of the Bible (Old and New Testaments) in literary Katharevousa Greek (Καθαρεύουσα) by Neofytos Vamvas (Νεόφυτος Βάμβας) and his associates was first published in 1850 following nearly 20 years of work. Vamvas was dean and a professor of the University of Athens.

This module is a revision of the Vamvas translation of the Bible into the modern vernacular (Demotic Greek) by Spyros (Spiros) Filos (Σπύρος Φίλος), and was first published in 1994. This translation is used in the Greek Evangelical Church and is also recognized by the Orthodox Church.

This module is converted from the MySword module created by Vrontayeus and available from:
http://www.biblesupp...ysword-version/

One download module: sfilos.bbli is provided with HTML content in SQLite database format that is suitable to load in recent Apple, Android, and Windows PC versions of e-Sword.

What's New in Version 1.0a Initial version (See full changelog)

  • The Bible module was unchanged in version 1.0a, but the Resource Name and the Description fields were edited in an attempt to trigger BibleSupport.com to automatically create a topic announcement page in the New e-Sword Downloads Message Board forum.

I did not make any changes in the Greek text.  I only converted the module as it already existed in MySword format to e-Sword format.
