Bijbeluitgaven GBS
Onderzoek door de GBS wees uit dat er in de bestaande uitgaven van de Bijbel in de Statenvertaling veel fouten voorkwamen. De GBS probeerde aanvankelijk om een bestaande uitgave in overleg met de uitgever te verbeteren. Helaas kon geen overeenstemming worden bereikt. Dat was voor de GBS reden om met een eigen uitgave te beginnen. De bijbeltekst (en later ook de kanttekeningentekst) werd nauwkeurig gecontroleerd aan de hand van de Van Ravesteyn-editie uit 1657. Deze wordt beschouwd als de meest nauwkeurige uitgave van de Statenvertaling. Om recht te doen aan de oorspronkelijke tekst van de Statenvertaling, corrigeerde de GBS vele taal- en zetfouten die de laatste twee eeuwen waren ingeslopen.

State translation provided by the Reformed Bible Foundation (Gereformeerde Bijbelstichting – GBS).

Research by the GBS showed that there were many errors in the existing editions of the Bible in the State Translation. The GBS initially tried to improve an existing edition in consultation with the publisher. Unfortunately, no agreement could be reached. That was the reason for the GBS to start its own publication. The biblical text (and later also the commentary text) was carefully checked against the Van Ravesteyn edition from 1657. It is considered to be the most accurate edition of the Statenvertaling.
In order to do justice to the original text of the Statenvertaling, the GBS corrected many language and typesetting errors that had crept in over the last two centuries.
Statenvertaling GBS editie
The module as last updated Apr 11, 2022, provides only one module at present, for use for e-Sword on the PC. [1] gbs.bblx 11.1MB The Language is Dutch (Netherlands). The Tab in the Bible View is GBS GBS Statenvertaling.
Display problems: The last phrase of 1 John 5:8 is seen correctly in the Parallel view, “de Geest, en het water, en het bloed; en die drie zijn tot één.” But in the normal view this text is corrupt: "de Geest, en het water, en het bloed; en die drie zijn tot één." The last verse of a chapter, for example the verse 1 John 5:21, does not display in the normal view, but displays okay in the Parallel view.
Recommendation for Bible Support Moderator and for the submitter: This corruption of the text is due to the use of characters that are not in the English language and the American typewriter or computer keyboard. This problem will probably be corrected if the module is processed to “bbli” format, using the e-Sword PC Module Conversion Utility v4.2.0 (updated 04-08-2022 [2022-08-04]), provided by the designer of e-Sword, Rick Meyers.
