#30764 Post e-Sword Module Requests Here

Posted by DSaw on 20 May 2017 - 10:29 AM

The number of new e-Sword modules submitted to BibleSupport have dramatically declined over the last few years. You can assign whatever reasons you want to for this fact. Regardless, I'm out of this discussion, so you have the last word.

That's not being questioned new modules have dropped the reason for your post after you explained what you meant by it is not being questioned its the meaning and wording of the post that tells a different story

I'd like to take this opportunity to thank Josh Bond, his staff, and the many contributors who have made BibleSupport what it is. I know that God is using it for His Glory. I also give thanks that God's Word never returns to Him void. It always accomplishes His Will and Purpose. From the Home Page:

Total Modules: 9,009

Total Downloads: 4,583,816

Total Uploaders: 175

totally agree this site is a blessing to thousands if not millions of people and not being questioned  PR

I thought that was obvious - fewer new modules that can be made for use on Bible Support.

by using "good materials" your saying that everything that is made now is not good and that is clear that, that is what that post says as evidence by the other posts on that post

it would had been claerer and simpler to just say what you said when questioned

"fewer new modules that can be made for use on Bible Support."

If anyone out there is building a module(s) keep working on it and post it let the down-loaders determine if its good or not

Thank you for the last word

#30729 Bible Reading Plan

Posted by DSaw on 18 May 2017 - 12:56 PM

Many Thanks DSaw.

Let me explain what I am doing:

I have a reading plan to read the book of Acts 5 times per week for one month. That gives me 28 readings. My question is thus; Will Esword show me the whole reading that I must complete for the day ie chapter 3 and 4 or only chapter 3? What happens if I get behind?

eSword only goes down to a month so it would only plan one reading of acts in the month

20 chapters of acts a day to read the book of Acts 5 times in a week is a lot at least for me it is

listening to the whole book of acts would take 2:18:00, 2 hrs 18 min

Yes, OK, much appreciated. I'll type it in and make the corrections as I go. See you in about 10 years, God bless. ~ esn

if you can part with a public domain copy (the book will be unbound "lost") one of us can scan it then OCR it when it is OCR'd many words about 80% and up will be accurate to the original saving you allot of time

a doc can be made of the resulting OCR so you can use the original scan to proof the doc

What’s the best way to get a hold of or make a digital, i.e., workable document, to use in module building or whatever; maybe a local service since I have no real equipment. .... ?

If A digital copy Can not be found the next step is to find a Public domain version of the book in print

Below is a public domain version of the book.

is this the book ?

https://www.amazon.c...tions jr graves

then the book must be scanned in to make it digital but that is the easy part then it must be OCR'd then proofed against the original that is very time consuming then it is relatively easy with T4 to

convert the text to eSword format

If it is just digital you want so it can be read on devices a pdf can be made from the scanned images

#28984 What's Still Broken As Of e-Sword 11.06?

Posted by DSaw on 27 September 2016 - 09:01 AM

Hi journey

I'm replying open forum so my facts can be corrected if wrong

I have tried every version from 11.0.0. up except one version which I can not remember right now, and each time have gone back to 10.4

As you! also I have started using TheWord and MySword more often, as currently I'm using eSword to build an Englishman's concordance plus module

I long hoped that Rick would abandon his underlining text control for a more modern engine which would allow more customization and work better with HTML TheWord and MySword both use HTML (correct ?) and they do not have the restrictions that eSword has

As of eSword 11.0 + I no longer like the look and feel and especially the loss of drag and drop in eSword and as of right now, there is no way to customize it to my liking the reason, I like MySword & TheWord  as they are  customizable to the way I study and the look and feel I like.

I'm using MySword for study prep because of mySword's bible markup features more and more though I'm using MySword to study with. (which I thought would not happen)

I do not Know there may come a point where staying with eSword 10.4 is not practical and a switching totally to a new study program is warranted many here have already switched to other bible study programs but still create modules for eSword

I think I have said this before somewhere, for me I'ts just wait and see

#28288 Encountering a copy/paste issue with e-Sword v11

Posted by DSaw on 18 July 2016 - 04:54 PM

I use Notepad++ as my text editor to write letters, and copy verses from eSword with it's 'Copy Verses' utility.  For the past 5 years this has worked very well, but with eSword v11 the copy function doesn't seem to work.  Usually I just use my mouse buttons, but I've also tried to use the keyboard shortcuts and the results are the same.  It appears to 'copy' the verses, but when I go to post them onto the text editor nothing transfers.

Does anyone else have this problem, or is this a new feature and not a bug?  Thanks for your feedback.

Yes I have similar issues I could drag a drop Now I have to copy and paste special into Word and even that is twitchy so much so that I reverted back to an earlier e-Sword I will see how things have progressed when I finish the first part of my current project
