#32609 Help with display

Posted by dasadler on 28 January 2018 - 02:30 PM

I was looking at the Help file trying to learn how to display (or hide) some of the Bibles I have installed.  While looking at the help file, I saw something about minimizing the Bible window by clicking the pushpin in the top right corner.

I did that and now I cannot get my original display back which showed Bible, Commentary, Dictionary, and notes.

How can I restore that display?  I tried closing and restarting e-Sword but it made no difference.

Now my e-Sword is display is blank except for little tabs (or buttons) along the left side.  They are Bible, Dictionaries, Commentaries, Bible Books, and Editors.  I can click on any of these and they will maximize.  Clicking on the show all windows icon at the top does nothing.

Thank you.

#30163 Sermonaudio question

Posted by dasadler on 28 February 2017 - 11:53 AM

I just discovered sermonaudio in the Tools menu.  However, when I look at the home page of e-sword.net there is an illustration showing the sermonaudio feature (see attached) it shows many sermons from Peter, Kings, Corinthians, etc.  This is good.  In my version of e-Sword (11.0.6)  it only has Psalms (mostly).  See attached pic.

How can I get all the sermon audios?  What I have works fine and I do have a paid version of e-Sword.

Thanks

#29233 Copy/paste verses in Vietnamese

Posted by dasadler on 22 October 2016 - 05:17 PM

I am using a Windows computer running e-Sword version 11.0.6

I find that when I copy a verse from the Vietnamese Bible then paste it into Word or or any other document or email it works fine showing accent marks correctly.

However, if I use the e-Sword Copy Verses... feature what is displayed as having been copied is unreadable... crazy accent marks, double characters, etc. - AND, when this is copied and subsequently pasted it is the same mess that was visible in the Copy Verses... window.

Likewise, when I select a verse in the Vietnamese Bible and use the e-Sword Paste into Journal Notes feature then what is pasted is the same mess as is seen in the Copy Verses... window.

Spanish works fine.

This is clearly a bug and needs to be addressed.  Praise the Lord that there is the work around of selecting text within the Bible and using Control-C to copy and Control-V to paste and it maintains the integrity of the text.

#28348 e-Sword 11 Released

I see what you are saying. The focus changes to wherever your mouse pointer moves to. So, if you are typing in the Editor window, and your mouse hovers over the Commentaries, Dictionaries, or Bibles window, then you can no longer type.

It appears to be a feature (done on purpose), but I'm not sure why. You can only type in the Editors window, so mousing over a different window should not prevent you from typing in the only window that you can type in.

Josh

It actually applies to other apps as well... for example, I have two monitors with e-Sword always maximized in my right screen (running windows, BTW)... if I open a notepad note and move it in front of the e-Sword, then when I move my mouse away from the note (over the e-Sword), then e-Sword steals the focus.  Same with calculator or any other app.  Previous version (10.4.0) did not do this.  Still on 11.0.1 right now.

#28267 Bible search results

Posted by dasadler on 17 July 2016 - 05:52 PM

Using the new e-Sword 11, I did a search on KJV for the word 'apple'.  It worked fine except the end of the search contained the following...

<h2>3 verses found, 3 matches</h2><table width="1635" style="table-layout:fixed; border:thin solid #999999; border-collapse:collapse;"><tr><td>Deuteronomy</td><td>1 verse found</td><td>1 match</td></tr><tr><td>Psalms</td><td>1 verse found</td><td>1 match</td></tr><tr><td>Joel</td><td>1 verse found</td><td>1 match</td></tr></table>

I never saw this in version 10.4.0

How do we update our installed version 10.4.0 to the new version 11 without losing settings, and so on?

#28168 KJV-BRG Bible

Thank you, e-Sword also emailed me how to find the information.

Select the Bible TAB in question then... Select "Bible, Information" from the e-Sword menu.
