#19838 e-sword for microsoft surface tablet

Posted by exscentric on 24 December 2013 - 07:29 PM

I have it on an Iconia but it takes a mouse to use.  Not sure why it wouldn't work on yours unless it is processor type.

There are some for metro but not all that functional.

Tried bluestacks with mysword and it worked fairly well.

#19407 step & premium

On the step files, you may have to rename the directories to know what the books are, it depends on how they are set up originally.  Copy them as suggested by journey and see if it works.

I had an old program that had step and the directories were named in giberish, I just opened the book, found out what it was and renamed the directory.  Then they showed up properly in the step reader.

#19056 NET Bible and Notes for e-sword

The premium used to be available at www.bible.org - I snooped for a link but found none, you might email them.  The free one should be around, maybe someone knows a source for it.  Hopefully someone will post it for you.

#18978 My Sword and Kindle

Posted by exscentric on 07 October 2013 - 03:05 PM

I just tried to install from one I downloaded for my Samsung and it installed properly on my Kindle.  It is the first kindle fire - that may/may not make a difference.  You might try downloading again.

#18417 Move from windows to ipad

Only way I know is to print the notes and paste them to the back of the Ipad :-)  On the serious side, maybe someone can offer a helpful comment soon.  I would think it would be a wise option to have made available.

#18366 win 8 tablet and esword

Posted by exscentric on 27 August 2013 - 07:12 PM

Just picked up one and esword kind of works.  On the scroll arrows not so much.  Anyone fiind a way to scroll through the commentary list or Bible list?

Thought I'd add some thoughts in case others search for info.

I have two programs that are iffy when it comes to scroll bars and scroll up and down arrows.  One is E-sword and the other is an old personal info manager called true sync.  Both will allow use of the scroll bar IF you tap in the right spot just right.  The arrows are very iffy on the PIM and very very iffy on E-sword.  In fact I CANNOT scroll in the bible/dictionary/commentary listings to slide the books left and right.

Overall I am totally impressed with the unit I received.  Iconia W700P.  On in about 6 seconds, has an i5 processor.  Other than the scrolling I am finding to problems as yet.

I might add, I am not rich, this was courtesy of Emachines.  We owned three of them many years ago - they had defective floppy drives - emachines sold them anyway - class action law suit - everyone that owned one and that had registered it was given a 300+ dollar voucher to use on Acer's recertified unit site.  We picked up the Iconia and a nice netbook for free :-)

The floppies were supposed to verify written data, but they did not.  I had noticed over the years that I had a lot of data errors in my text files but hadn't figured out why - uhhh now I know.

Might add I ordered a bluetooth mouse which should allow the scrolling but will make a funny bulge in the bag on the way to coffee :-)

#17961 Will there ever be a version for Android users???

Have you tried it?  I have it working on mine.  Don't recall which version mine is but runs in my mind it is the first one.

That can be very dangerous :-)

#17744 I just have to tell somebody

Posted by exscentric on 08 July 2013 - 09:44 AM

Might be wrong but the original one had a poorly worded note about dispensations indicating there were two methods of salvation which is used to this day on forums to down dispies when indeed the misstatement was corrected in later editions.

Glad you were able to find that which you sought :-) fun when you run across something.

I was 2000 miles from home on deputation and happened into a small shopping mall killing some time.  I was near broke when I happened to stop at a bargain table at a secular book store.  There was a New Scofield Bible for $9.00 :-)  My Bible was in a shambles and had been needing a replacement for several years!  Shouldn't have spent even that much but I did :-)

#17713 How to get Study Bible NLT on e-Sword

Posted by exscentric on 06 July 2013 - 07:52 AM

Life App. is here I think:  http://estudysource....page/index.aspx

They send you a link to download it from along with a code by email and it also normally shows up in the purchase process on the computer unless they have changed something.  Download it and double click on the file and follow the instructions.

Dictionaries - I'd get Thayer and Strongs for sure and go from there.

Tools/reference Library should get you to the ref. section and the books should be there.
