#11558 Font in John Owen's Exposition of the Epistle of Hebrews

Posted by Jogirl on 09 August 2012 - 10:21 AM

I began reading in chapter 12, after verse 1 and saw this:

Ver. 1.

I checked my fonts and saw that Titus Cyberbit Basic is the font that I have selected for Greek.  Maybe, I am doing something wrong to get that kind of weird display.  Is this just me?

#7120 MirrorWord Bible

Posted by Jogirl on 16 March 2012 - 05:29 AM

My pastor sent me this link:  http://www.mirrorwor...MirrorWordBible and wanted to know what I thought of it.   When I went there, I noticed there is an e-sword module created for this Bible.  Is this new to anyone else?  I didn't read much of it so I have no opinion.

#4639 Why do I use e-Sword?

Where can we read your entry in NaNoWriMo?

jonathon

Hi Jonathon,
After November, everyone is editing and some people have plans to publish and distribute their novels.  I have no plans yet other than to finish it, polish it, and let my closest friends read it to see if it is worth expending more energy on publishing, etc.  It would be fairly easy to publish as an ebook on Amazon for the Kindle and sell it for 99 cents.  There are other ebook routes I could take, too.  I have given it all to the Lord and look to Him for the next step.  Thanks for asking!

Jogirl,

first, your new avatar is much nicer than that hideous thing you used to have. (wink, wink).

Second - can you tell us more about your novel?

Hi Dave,
I'm still working on it, mosly editing and I will have to re-write the last section since I have some better ideas.  During the thirty day period of November, I scrambled every day to get my word count up to 2K.  The goal is to get 50K and to completely forget about grammar.  It frees the individual to pick up the pen or peck on the keyboard and let thoughts fly.  I wrote a novel about a young boy situated in the first century who studies under Rabban Gamaliel and who becomes an amanuensis.

This avatar is only temporary, Dave, until I find one with a basketball in it.   :D
God bless and thanks for your humor!

#4598 Why do I use e-Sword?

I have used e-sword for years because of the friendly UI and quality content, plus it is much faster than other Bible software I have.  This year I had a tremendous experience using e-sword because I entered the NaNoWriMo competition and throughout the month of November, I was writing a 50K word novel.  The genre I chose was historical fiction so I relied heavily on ISBE, Strong's, BDB, and many commentaries--all in e-sword which I ran in the background.  If I choose to publish the novel, then I have no problem with securing permission from copyright holder's since the subject matter I may have quoted was in the public domain.  That is really nice.  It is great for authors to use!!!

#2304 Modifying eSword's "ToolTip Font..."

Posted by Jogirl on 26 September 2011 - 10:50 AM

Hey, BibSuppers,

I have just noticed an idiosyncrasy in my "Options" area, and was wondering if the problem is a setting on my machine, or a possible overall "bug" in the program. Under "Options/ToolTip Font..." I am able to change the size of the display of my ToolTips (currently set at 11, but changeable to many different sizes). However, I cannot change the color (always reverts to "custom" which displays as black on my laptop) nor the font (no matter what is selected, the font displayed is Times New Roman).

Anyone else notice a quirk like this? Or perhaps have one of my customizations caused an 'issue'?

Hi Dave,
My systems behaves as your's does so it is not peculiar to your system, IMO.  I can only change the size of the font.

Inasmuch as the note you are responding to has a negative rating, and, in light of my statement a few weeks ago that I will treat negative ratings as formal requests to not provide documentation, or answers, I will not be answering your question.

I am sorry if that offends you.

jonathon

I am new to the forums and I do not honestly know what "a negative rating" is and where to find it.  Is this something implied in the substance of the post?  Does each post get one?  I didn't see anything inherently negative about any of the posts in this thread.  Please, be kind, gentlemen.   :)

#2119 Extended Search of Topic, Journal, Study Notes

Posted by Jogirl on 16 September 2011 - 01:53 PM

I know it is possible to do extended searches in Bible, Commentaries and Dictionaries or IOW to do exhaustive searches of all resources in those categories.  So far, I have not figured out if it is possible to search all my journal notes, or all my study notes, or all topic notes.  Am I missing it somewhere?  Thanks!
