You did very well to find that information!! Not too many people dig that deep to find out what Oblias really means. In modern translation, it would be closer to "the steady one'" or " the one with a solid base who watches over others", near as I can find out. I am retired from the Armed Forces, and for years I did my best to do what I could to 'watch over the citizens of our Nation' and to build my integrity and honor as much as God would give me the strength to. Our Lord has saved my life so many times that I could not tell you the exact number, but I know in my heart that he has shielded me many times when I was 'in a jam' !!
So, I adopted the call sign 'Oblias' many years ago, but people rarely ask me what it means, even though it's quite a rare name.
