Once again, you have been a BIG help!!   I am downloading a 'non-drama' one now.   Not sure what the differences are between the versions of 'drama' and non-drama', however I shall find out.

You did very well  to find that information!!   Not too many people dig that deep to find out what Oblias really means.  In modern translation, it would be closer to "the steady one'"  or " the one with a solid base who watches over others",  near as I can find out.   I am retired from the Armed Forces, and for years I did my best to do what I could to 'watch over the citizens of our Nation' and to build my integrity and honor as much as God would give me the strength to.  Our Lord has saved my life so many times that I could not tell you the exact number, but I know in my heart that he has shielded me many times when I was 'in a jam' !!

So, I adopted the call sign 'Oblias' many years ago, but people rarely ask me what it means, even though it's quite a rare name.  

Just a tid-bit of information there...   LOL

You take care of yourself, and as we used to say, keep your boots on the ground, and watch your 6 .

Well, that may take me a while to find you then.  I believe we all get the same 'uniform' once we reach our Mansion in the Sky!    :-)

I removed the config file and let PES rebuild a new one, and the scond time I opened it, it opened to that verse I was on when I stopped.   However, I continued on reading, made sure it said a different verse number up top, shut it down, and restarted the program.   However, it took me back to where I stopped the 1st time I shut it down. 

I did find another workaround, and that was to go up to the book display box, click in it, choose the current place where stopped reading, and then PES reloads the bible to that chapter and verse.  When I shut down, then restart the PES prog, it goes exactly to the spot I choose before shutting down. 

I suppose thats easier than making a bookmark each time, then having to go there and click on a bookmark to get me back to where I was.....

Perhaps this is one of the reasons there is no support for PES anymore?    But it's just fine, I can live with the method I have found to work for now.  

Also, thank you for explaining the popup feature, but I don't read a version of the Bible with those in it, so I do not take advantage of that feature....

I believe we've done all we could to try to understand what's going on, and I will thank you in person on day when we meet in Heaven.  Just remind me that you are the one who tried your best to help me thru all this!!   LOL

OK, I checked the 'Role' Reg_Dword value in my reg file, and it showed a value of decimal 24.    So, I changed it to 40, per your instructions, saved the updated reg, and closed the regedit program.    Opened PES and went down to Rev 2:10, clicked on the 10 number so that it showed up top, then closed the program.

Opened PES again, but it opened to Rev 2:1    and not verse 10.    

So I changed my 'Role' value back to decimal 24 and saved the reg again.      

That is the current state of affairs.   However, at least it now opens to the 1st verse of whatever book and chapter I left off at.   It is getting better!    :-)
