Greetings, Josh, and anyone else reading this! I'm an old retired pastor, not too bad at computer-related things, but sometimes I simply don't know what I've done wrong. Usually it's something simple that I just didn't realize. I downloaded the E-Sword installer and installed it. I downloaded a text I need to be able to read. Every time I double-click on the text, I get a prompt box asking me if I want to make changes in the E-Sword Installer. If I click no, nothing happens. The first time I clicked yes, a box told me that C:\Program Files (x86)\e-sword\  did not exist. So I created it as a file folder. The next time, and every subsequent time, I double click on the file in that file folder, and the book disappears, and does not open. Thanks for kindly replying, and my apologies if as I suspect this is the proverbial dumb question! (It's late here in the country of Panama, so I will sign off now and see if you have kindly answered in the morning.)

Is there no e-Sword shortcut in the desktop screen? If not is e-Sword not installed correctly.

re-download e-Sword and try again (you need click yes for the changes in the register) and normally choice the installer the default folder.

C:\Program Files (x86)\e-Sword is for the 64-bit Windows OS but if you have an older Windows 32-bit OS then is it C:\Program Files\e-Sword

I don't understand what you mean with the "book" because you need to left double-click on the e-Sword.exe file to start the e-Sword program.

Greetings from Panama, Katoog, and thank you for your reply. I de-installed e-sword and reinstalled it. The icon does appear on my desktop. I do have a 64-byte system and the latest Windows. But the results remain exactly as I described above.

FWIW, I also have tried opening the program, but there is no way I can find within the program to open the book that I want to read. (The book is the Samaritan Pentateuch in English, downloaded from this website, in the e-sword format.) There is also, within the program, no evident way to re-download the book. So I canèt access the book from the program or by clicking on the book. I have also tried right-clicking to give me program options for opening the book, but e-sword is not among them.

This Bible Module is of the First Five Books

(only Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy) and this is the Samaritan version of the Torah.

And the tab name is SPE
