Is there a NIV’84 for iPhone available anywhere? I understand the history of the update to the NIV 2011 etc. I have a copy of the NIV’84 via desktop but I haven’t been successful converting it.

No! Due to the fact that the NIV 1984 edition was well and truly around before iPhones and crazy things like that was invented, and that went out of vogue well and truly before e-Sword LT was even thought of, its not available.

 

Note also that the copyright for that edition of the Bible is still active, and will be for quite some considerable time, we are not allowed to make copies of it. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but I guess that is the way the cookie crumbles.

Lonnie, IF you purchased NIV '84 from E-Sword before the publisher put out NIV 2011, Rick tells me you should be able to get it again by requesting your number from E-Sword although I must admit I have been unsuccessful in doing this. I *thought* I had successfully reinstalled NIV 84 which I purchased in 2005 but when I go to NIV in E-Sword all I get is the PC "inclusive" nouns and pronouns.

 

Like you, I would like to fix this and be assured that I have the Biblical version of the NIV and not the politically correct version. God spoke to men because Eve sinned first and we followed hence we miserable men were made the head of the woman to teach us not to follow others into sin. I say this not to denigrate women, I love them -- one in particular for now 55 years -- but to acknowledge what I feel is God's intent.

 

As an alternative in my published devotions I frequently use the MKJV, also available for E-Sword.

Thanks for the info. I don’t remember what email I would have used back then to request my NIV84 info. Lol
I’d easily trade the CSB module for an iPhone NIV84 version. Oh well, I have found via android, the Dove offline Bible is a great app and offers the NIV84. The only option for the iPhone is the Just1word app. I’ll keep researching. Thanks again!
