I am sorry if this is covered already, I looked but did not find anything.

 

I have gotten peculiar as I have gotten old and want things a certain way.

 

in E-sword in the Bibles some are capitalized and some not, I went through the E-sword directory and renamed all of the Bibles that were not properly capitalized, this helped several bibles but a couple refused to capitalize.

 

cjb and csb refused to show up capitalized.

 

I think the problem is in the bible module itself, I looked for an E-sword tool to edit bible modules but did not find one, all I want to do is make all of the bibles in E-sword show up capitalized.

 

is there an editing utility that will let me do that?

 

Also in the bibles section of E-sword they are not sorting alphabetically, the NIRV comes ahead of the NIV and JSP comes before JPS and the VW is down in the B's 

 

and some others are the same, 

 

maybe I am being too picky, but it bugs me that that it is not all alphabetized in sequence and capitalized.

The tabs used in the e-Sword bible window can be renamed using the e-Sword Tab Renamer Tool you can download this tool at this link:

The alphabetical order of the modules depends on how the bible modules are named in your e-Sword folder on your computer. In the case of the NIV and NIRV windows alphabetized them based on the third letter with R coming before V in the alphabet. I am not sure what is causing your other issues.

If you want to get in to more detailed module editing there is the module creation tool called e-Sword Tooltip

Thank you so much, the two bibles I wanted capitalized are now capitalized.

 

I had tried E-sword Bible dumper, E-Sword Module installer, and E-Sword tool tip nt.

 

and you are absolutely right NIR does come before NIV I do not know what I was thinking there!

 

the only one not right is VW-Edition it is in B section of Bibles I tried the tab renamer but it is correct in its name, there is nothing there but VW-Edition.

 

weird.

 

found it, it was listed in the E-sword Directory as Bible VW-Edition.

 

so that is now fixed.

Hey Guys.

 

Ok so heres whats going I have two computers, so I am running e-sword 11ish on one and decided to run e-sword 7.10 on the other. 

 

the tab renamer for e-sword 9x works great.

 

I just downloaded the e-sword tab renamer for e-sword version 8.

 

I am getting "error writing to database"

 

ok so I checked and the BBL files were write protected, I removed the write protection, still getting the error.

 

I moved the E-sword tab renamer file to the E-sword directory still getting the error

 

I tried this with several files, and it refuses to update the files.

 

I like having the full title of the Bible version on the tabs, as I only run 11 bibles on e-sword 11 and when I write posts where I am using the compare function I just like having it show the full title of the bible versions.

Not sure if this is related to your problem but I have had to take modules out of the e-sword directory to edit them because Windows OS doesn't allow an overwrite....

I thought I said I have E-sword tab renamer 8, maybe I did not but that is what I am trying to use is E-sword tab renamer 8 on E-sword 7.10 install

 

I moved the Bibles out of the E-sword Directory and was able to renamer a few of them, the KJV, KJVR, and the NLT are password protected as indicated by the tab renamer utility when I tried to rename them.

 

also of note is that when renaming, there was not notification either way, but after moving the files back to the E-sword directory and then running E-sword, I saw that the ones that actually loaded in the renamer were in fact renamed.

one is the KJV.bbl another is the KJVR.bbl and the last is the Message.bbl

 

a long time ago when I was was fairly new into computer gaming, back in the days of duke nukem, someone posted in the forum about using a hex editor/disk editor to open the game file and change a bit of code, to make the laser trip bombs laser invisible.

 

I downloaded a hex editor and followed the directions to the letter, and was able to make the red laser beam invisible, playing on a home lan, I had to edit both my game, and my friends game for this trick to work, both games had to be the same.

 

I said all of that wondering if a password protected file can be edited the same way using a hex editor, which I am sure can be done, but not being a programmer or familiar with programming code, I would need directions on how to do such a thing.

 

all I want is to rename the files so they will have the full name when I copy and paste them from the compare mode. I can rename then by hand after doing the copy and paste, but if they were already renamed I could avoid that step.

We not help you with to "unlock" the locked modules of Rick Meyers. And you need a "KJV.bbl" in the module list otherwise shall e-Sword a reinstall himself and are the other modules gone.

 

The KJV (even the 1611 editions) are still under "Crown Copyright" in the UK but this is ignored in the rest of the world.

The Cambridge and Oxford editions have "printing rights" in the UK and they have extended the copyright, so almost every KJV edition made after 1900 is worldwide under copyright.

I was sure that would be the reply, I was just voicing my wish to rename some files.

 

I am already familiar with the KJV.BBLX being renamed will cause a reinstal of E-sword, for whatever reason the tab renamer for 9x and higher will rename the KJV.BBLX file.

 

but the tab renamer for E-Sword 8 will not rename the KJV.BBL file.
