I have downloaded several files that are "mapx" but the module converter will not convert this type of file to the e-Sword X file type "Refi". Any suggestions on what I can do? I would like to be able to use these map and chart modules on my e-Sword. Thank you!

The reason a mapx file won't convert to an refi file is that only refx files can be converted to refi. You need to convert the mapx file to mapi, or whatever the actual extension is.

I don't think there is away to do that conversion, as e-Sword Tooltip the module creation tool does not support the mapi file extension

Just to verify this I had recently asked the developer of e-Sword what the situation was with maps. His reply was.

Jon,

There is not an Apple equivalent, i.e. no MAPI file format, thus no need to convert the MAPX files.

So there it is in all it's glory.

That said, it appears that e-Sword X is able to load e-Sword's (PC) mapx files. So, we now no longer have an issue. YIPPEE!!!! God is good.

I didn't see it that way. There is not an Apple equivalent, meaning there is not a dedicated graphics reader, so no conversion is needed.

Hi Jon,

Well I don't have a Mac PC, and so I wouldn't really have a clue. Need to see a decent screenshot or a video on the program to know what's on it and what's not on it. Think I'll have a look for one.

Blessings,

Bookmark this for future reference.

Jon,

We have real maps on the Apple devices, so at this point a "graphics viewer" does not exist.  MAPX files only work on the PC e-Sword.
