Hey all,

So, I already had an FB Meyer commentary listed with my other commentaries, but I just downloaded and installed Meyer's Through the Bible module. I'm not sure if it's showing or if it's one and the same with what's already there. How can I check?

Thanks much.

Hey all,

OK, if you installed the "new" downloaded one, then the previous file would have been over written on your hardrive, so there is no actual way you can actually sort of "comparing" the new file against the older file. That said, if you have another device, such as a laptop, and have e-Sword on it, and have the "older" file on it, then you can do a kind of comparison. But you have to have the laptop next to the desktop PC's monitor, or something like that.

Now, if you have a backup copy of the original file, then it can be a lot simpler. All you then need to do is install the older file in a different folder, rename it, and rename the Tab name, then move it to your e-Sword folder, and then run e-Sword, you should see it in your Commentary tabs, and from there do a sort of comparison.

I realize that this may seem to be a bit of a rigmarole, but that is about the only way I can think of doing it. Outside of that, I don't think there is way you can do it.

Well, I pretty much just answered my question (and thanks, AP, for the response).

Hovering over the tab for Meyer under Commentaries shows a pop-up labeled Through the Bible, so I know now what that is.

But here's the question now: in my e-Sword folder, I have to listings for Meyer: 1) Meyer, FB - Through The Bible Day by Day.cmtx and 2) meyer.cmtx.

What I need to know now is if meyer.cmtx is another module (if so, I don't see it anywhere in e-Sword), or if it's part of the Through the Bible module.

Thanks again.

UPDATE

So, I see that there are two tabs for the same commentary by Meyer. One says DayByDay, the other says FB Meyer. I tried removing the meyer.cmtx to see which module this was, and e-Sword would not open - said something about needing to update files and that it couldn't if it was running. So, put the meyer.cmtx back, went into e-Sword, removed the FB Meyer one permanently from the Resources area, and that made the meyer.cmtx go away. Hey, it works, and I'm good...I guess!
