Iam new here and I want to use e-sword for my personal bible studies. I gave up on downloads some 4 yrs ago but now wanna try again. The same problem again, going through cascades just to end up nowhere. I wanted to download extra bible translations and clicked on the items, but they have not started downloaded since one hour ago. Can some benevolent soul show me how they did it?

Modules need to be installed into e-Sword in order for them to work correctly

You should also download the module installer to properly install modules into e-Sword. The module installer makes module installation very simple.

What I do is to download modules to my Downloads folder first, then I install them by using the module installer into e-Sword. The module installer copies and installs the module into e-Sword leaving the downloaded file in my Downloads folder. This allows me to have a back-up copy of all of my installed modules in case a module stops working

Here is the link to where you can find the module installer:

Ctepa,

Are you referring to downloading from within the download window in e-Sword? If so, click on the desired Bible translation that you want. You will see it appear in the white area at the bottom of the window. You may select another translation if you wish. Then at the top of the window you have two menu options, File and Download. Click the Download menu and select Start. Your Bible(s) will download and install. You will have to restart e-Sword in order to see them appear in the Bible window of e-Sword. If you select a Premium Bible you will be asked to provide a Product Key which you can get by clicking on the Purchase From eStudySource button and following the purchasing instructions that will appear in your browser. Then return to this window in e-Sword and enter your product key and click Validate. I don't remember for sure what happens next, but I think it will be the same. The Bible will appear in the white area at the bottom of the Downloader window and you will click the Download menu and then the Start option.

What Kartoog and Tj Higgins were referring to is how to download Bibles and other files from this site. That is a different process as they have described.

I am a hands on person, I like to move files here and there, I have many e-sword files, I like to move bible files in and out of E-sword, but I just downloaded some through the e-sword app and they are not in the E-sword directery.

I had to settle for removing them in the resources tab

does anyone know where they are?

If you made backups then can you search them by using the search bar in Windows.

Type e-sword or BBLI or BBLX.

The next time need you only to click on the v to un-select them instead of delete.

If you have luck are the files still in the Recycle Bin and can you move them back;

or are they still able to restore with this program:

Sometimes modules install in what is called the windows virtual store:

C:\Users\%USERNAME%\AppData\Local\VirtualStore

I found it, I had a hunch the folder might be hidden so I ticked the check box for showing hidden files/folders and what do ya know, I found the files in the "appstore" folder

But they were not what I expected as they were bbli not bblx

My main reason for wanting to find these files is that I like to use the tab renammer app to change the modual names to the full title name, its just me and how I want it to appear because I sometimes use the compare function for quoting multiple bibles and having their full name in the menubar, makes them the full name when i use the compare function.

Shouldn't be an issue as bbli files will open in e-Sword 4 Winblows (oops, I mean, ahem, Windows)
