Hi,

I am producing my own modules in italian language and I did copy the default abbreviations list in an external one, edited the last with the italian abbreviations and told the program to use my external list.

When I tooltip my commentary module I still get the default abbeviations. Example: 1 Re_2:1, which is on my list, is always tooltipped as 1Ki_2:1, which is the default english one. Why?

Is there any way to get the italian abbreviations which I put in the file?

Thank you very much

If you can post your file, perhaps someone will be able to check it.

Hi,

following you suggestion I am attaching the file I am preparing which is at the moment limited to Genesis only.
Practically I have a Bible with book names in italian and the cross referenceswhich, after tooltipping, are written with names in english. Am I right?

I think they would need your abbreviations file also.

Also, why is this file already tooltipped?

First Tooltip NT can only create tooltips in two languages either English or Spanish, Tooltip generates the tooltips using the first three letters or number and two letters of each bible book. Thus Genesis becomes Gen, Exodus becomes Exo, Leviticus becomes Lev, books like 1 Kings become 1Ki etc.

However E-Sword on the other hand can be configured for a large number of languages through its Options menu. Changing the default language in E-Sword to Italian you can use the Italian versions of the bible book names.

You will have to edit the tooltips in your commentary manually after generating them replacing the English with the Italian. So in the first comment in your there is a reference for 2 Kings 2:1, when the reference is tooltipped it become 2Ki 2:1 in English. You will need to manually replace the letters "Ki" in the tooltip with the letters "Re" for the book 2 Kings in Italian. So the tooltip will read 2Re 2:1

With the language in E-Sword set to Italian, E-Sword will recognize the Italian book abbreviations in the Tooltips and the correct pop-up will appear.

Before you go much further with your commentary file try changing the language in E-Sword to Italian and see what the Bible book names are. You will see that not everyone of your tooltips need to be changed as some of the books have the same first 3 letters in English and Italian. For example Genesis in Italian is Genesi so the Tooltips will start with Gen in either language. The book Exodus is Esodo in Italian so tooltips such as Exo 2:3 for example will need to be changed to Eso 2:3.
